The StratosphereHas anybody had a good Plane Tour over the canyon?
They seem to be the same cost as a bus tour?
We really want to do a helicopter tour but we also really want to do the day kayak tour thus our budget is tight.0 -

We're getting our bits n bobs ready as we go on Wedneday for a week.
As yet we only have 1 show planned - Cher on Sunday 15th.
We have been looking at the 25% off the Cirque show Love & looking at Cat 3 tickets - roughly $173 for both of us. Now there are 2 shows at the weekends - for those who have been do you feel is there much difference between the early/late show in terms of atmosphere etc?
Also, the arena looks quite small so I assume that there really isn't a bad place in the house? Every time I select Cat 3 it gives me Block 305 row EE. Now thinking back to Ka last year we were quite far back & this meant we didn't miss anything - is this the case with this show?
Oh & 1 last thing. British sport - does anyone know where you'd be able to find any live footie - my team (Celtic) are in a cup final next week & I'd like to catch it although I'm not holding out much hope.
Cheers
I have seen this show twice . Cat 1 and 2 . I found Cat 1 was too close , but Cat 2 was perfect . To be honest Cat 3 would be too Far back for me . Spend the extra and go Cat 20 -

I was also going to suggest the Crown & Anchor. However be aware that I think they charge an entrance fee or cover charge.
They were showing British football at the MGM sports book when we were there last year. You could maybe ask there a day or two before the match.0 -
The Bellagio FountainsWell I got a reply to my email to Harrah's about earning points from booking shows.
It was a very nice email and confirmed that I should have earned points and that their staff were wrong. Apparently they will be bringing my email to their attention to ensure it doesn't happen again.
I have to take my receipt to the Total Rewards desk and they will credit me with the points.0 -

I know lots of people are quite happy to spend their days by the pool and really enjoy it...but there are tons and tons of things to do in Vegas during the day...
To be fair ferf, I did say "some days"....afterall you have to have a bit of a relax and sunbathe on holiday......
We will be getting out and about a few days though, as I said Death Valley, our stay in LA, Zion, GC....
If you have any other suggestions off the top of your head then i'd love to know them....

The Bellagio Fountainsall this food talk has reminded me - I think someone here regularly goes to Ellis Island for breakfast? We've only ever been for the bbq and the steak special but since we stay at Bally's might check it out for breakfast...if this menu is correct, it's crazy cheap!

We managed to catch some of last years FA cup at the Wynn Sportsbook (we'd just indulged in the buffet so couldn't move that far!!). It was such a long match that we managed to catch the penalties at TI while playing on the slots.

The Bellagio FountainsFor those who have done Valley of Fire - from what I can tell looks like about an hour's drive give or take...how long did you spend exploring? We're not big hikers, but we would normally drive around a bit and stop for lots of photo ops...just not sure how much time to expect to spend there for planning purposes...I know it's a pretty relative thing, but just to have a ballpark would help. Any other tips greatly appreciated too!
I think someone (pebbles?) once said sunrise or sunset would be great times to be there so may look into sunrise depending on just how early a start that would be!
Here is a link to the VoF park info. It is about 55-60 miles away from Vegas and has about 20 miles of roadways. If you have a look at the link, you can see some of the attractions along the way and pick out a couple you may be interested in looking at. We didn't do much in the way of hiking either time we went. First time it was raining and second time was a bit on the hot side for me. They also have a guided tour program.
Hope that helps. Sorry I cant be more specific on timings, but I honestly can't remember. I do remember that going back via the shores of Lake Mead was a disappointment because we didn't get to go so close to the shore most of the time. That way seemed to take an awful lot longer to get back to Vegas too.0 -
The Bellagio FountainsLooks like I might have to revise my thoughts of £100 per day for the two of us.... eeek
Will be an expensive holiday over the two weeks
I must be a real cheapskate. I don't spend anywhere near £100 per day for the two of us. We are going for SIX weeks soon and there is no way we would spend that much. Give me a bit of time and I'll dig out a few days expenses if you're interested.
I see the budget option has been already pointed out by others.0
