Fantastic, there is a crochet thread :D. I've spent the last half an hour reading all the post here.
I learned to crochet in march this year and I love it. I am mainly crocheting amigurumis
Got a blog here showing the items I made if anyone is interested. (Not sure if I'm allowed to link my blog, let me know otherwise and I'll remove it)
I second Attic 24, she does make some fab, colorful items. I'm gonna attempt making one of her ripple blankets later in the new year.

Thank you mambury for your kind comments. The bunny and the mascots are actually the most popular of the items I made for people. I've sold quite a few but I've given away just as many
I just enjoy crocheting, find it soooo relaxing in the evening when the kids have gone to bed.
I finished making a little autumn girl this evening and hope to have some good weather to take pictures of her tomorrow morning. She is going to be a Christmas gift for my friends little daughter, so I got her ready just in time.

No, I don't have a shop online or anything. People usually contact me one way or another and ask if I can make amigurumis for them.
I don't tend to advertise it, I mainly crochet for my own enjoyment. If I set up a shop I think I'd be too stressed and it will take away some of the fun.
  • Hi all, loving the pics of scarf etc. Surprising how different they look in other colours.

Zippy, sorry to hear you are not finding it easy to master stitches. A couple of ideas, do you have any friends who can do it, or maybe elderly relatives you could ask (a good time for getting together over Christmas). Also, do you have any wool shops in the area who may know of someone who would just sit down for a little while and go through the basics. I do understand that often it is easier to be shown how to do something than just read or watch films etc. Wish I was nearer to help. Good luck anyhow. K

Do you have a Let's Link scheme near you? When I first joined one, I offered to give crochet lessons as one of my trades.
  • Loved Alice Cooper -Greenpixey - so cool.
I'm busy making a swiffer cover for a swap on Craftster

I made this American McGee's Alice doll for a swap ages ago. I was so proud, but I can see some of the problems with it now. For one I hate putting faces on things.

Here's Reggie the Monkey meeting Z. I made Reggie for another swap.

I agree. sometimes it's easier to have a lesson. That way they can point out where you're going wrong.

Greenpixey, your amigurumis are brilliant, any good pattern books you can recommend? Do the library stock them, do you think? And do you crochet in wool or cotton and which brand do you use?

I have starched my snowflakes, just have to sew them together to make a garland, but still have cards to make, uniforms to iron, cook the tea etc etc, not enough craft time in the day, I say!!!
