    morning all!!
congrats on the new arrival samp
got my certificate card yesterday so can now go and get my free prescription!!
very quick as i only filled in the form on the 13Feb and the surgery sent it off for me as well!!
got a bit down yesterday bout not feeling pregnant. dh was fab and said not too worry, not everyone feels sick, has sore boobies etc. and that i can do another test if i want tobe sure. which made me feel a bit daft. so i decided on checking out my boobies and nips are darker and got a lot bigger and they seem to weigh a lot heavier than usual. dont seem bigger but i am 38E/F anyway... so maybe have grown into the muscle/skin/fat ive already got??

  • Back from MW - told her the story of Monday - the trainee MW knew exactly who I was talking about when I said about the t0sser of a consultant - I am clearly not the first lady he has upset.

Anyway, Bubba is still 2 fifths engaged (so 3 5ths of his head in my pelvis) when I said I was hoping he would have gone down further by now MW said any further is in labour so I just need to get that started.

Curry doesn't work apparently but sperm is best for softening the cervix (remembers that she should have bought a pineapple!!).

Wee fine today (although it looked awful - cloudy with bits in it  )

Measuring 41 weeks but not worried about that anymore.

MW will do a sweep next Wed (I'll be 40+2) and then book me in for another at home on the Sat (40+5) or the Mon (41)...although we are hoping Bubba will be here by then. Just need to find the energy to get jiggy!!

All the ironing done, lunch is on (pasta with roated red peppers and olive oil and garlic), stuff ready to go in the dryer and I am knackered. Might visit the flylady thread and make a list for today, that always makes me feel better.

Welcome to all the newbies!!! I'm going up that list now too :D

Ohhh need a ticker to count down till my 'should be 12 but it's actually 15' week scan.

Just a note to all the ladies suffering with hip and pelvic pain the best advice I have learnt is to keep thinking "pelvis floor, pelvic floor, pelvic floor". You know the squeezing exercises as if you are trying to stop yourself weeing?! :o

I suffered terribly with DS and no amount of physio or the recommended specialised desk chairs at £500 a pop  helped and I ended up hobbling around like a lady of 110yrs old for about half of my pregnancy.

When I recognised the same symptoms starting at around 8 weeks this time I asked to be referred to the physio asap. She really went to town on explaining the benefits of the pelvic floor exercises and my homework for the week was to do as many as possible and I was amazed when I noticed such a huge improvement within 2 days. I now know when I haven't done enough in a day as I start to get stiff and clicky joints but by increasing the number of exercises it starts to ease off very quickly.

    All together now, squeeze :rotfl:

LOL spinks - I DO do my pelvic floor exercises tho :D
I do remember them at the oddest times and places - like when I'm driving to work, randomly sat in the office, walking in Tesco - you name it!

    Glad the visit went well.

I just find it soooo frustrating that consultants (and any medical people for that matter) can be like they were with you and think it's okay. He's obviously a serial offender and especially with pregnancy and even more so when it's your first, i think it's totally out of order for them to behave like that. Thankfully your midwives treat you better :D

Find the engery to get jiggy!!!! Not sure when you might have it again after bubs arrives :rotfl: :rotfl:

At my parentcraft classes they said about sperm because the gel that you are given to induce you contains the same hormones (if that is the right word) as what's in sperm becuase that is what gets you started.

Great that she has given you some dates for the sweeps so that you know where you are at. Soooo jealous!!!!
  • I don't get involved in breastfeeding vs artificial feeding debates because it is not my aim to make people feel guilty by the choices they make. Mothers have enough to feel guilty about, society piles it on us at every opportunity... We all try to do the best for our babies and my personal opinion (and through the training I've had) breastfeeding is the only way for me to feed my children.

Thank you! There are plenty of breastfeeding nazis out there who DO make mothers feel bad and it's really refreshing to here of a breadfeeding support who respects other peoples choices.

I think that baby is better off with a mother who is relaxed with her choice and not anxious about her choice of feeding - whichever that choice is. If mum is stressed out baby will know. Just go with the flow. If you want to BF then do it, if not then don't. Neither makes you a bad mum as individual circumstances are different for everyone. If you want to BF then end up being unable to don't feel bad about that either - baby will adapt they are remarkable resilient!

Anyway how is everyone?? I am feeling all boated today and have no energy at all. Oh well will have to sit on bum messing about on internet! Shame :rotfl:! Itching to have my 20 week scan and it seems like a thousand years away (8th april). I want to buy stuff!! Real stuff in real colours!! I have pram, car seat, bottles everything else (been shopping!) but I want to buy a pretty pink dress or a lovely blue babygro! I know for some of you this may seem early to buy stuff but I have been here before not too long ago and i need to spread the cost :D
