Hello!
Weezl here... A report on the batch cooking marathon! Since 3.10 am when I awoke (having scared myself that my waters had broken, when actually I had rolled onto my hot water bottle and popped the lid off!!!!) I have achieved the following:
made and frozen 13 houmous sarnies
4 loaves of bread
4 meals for two of us of bolognaise sauce
7 meals for two of us of ham hock with marrowfat peas
braised hearts and kidneys, think about 10 portions worth!
2 trays of flapjack- 32 pieces
Hoorah!:T:T:T:T:T
On discussion time people don't understand us old-stylers, but pop over anyway if you like!

I'd second that having just skimmed the conversation..... maybe we're an odd breed here but I very rarely venture out of OS I don't understand other boards as well as here and find the pace slower and much more friendly than anywhere else. You can see that by the way people are supported in their ventures and crisises.0 -
Am home after nice bath and cuddle with cats...am sorry that the baby shower wasnt what I would have liked but the thought was there...certainly confirmed my feeling that pubs are not my thing!!
Anyway...thank you for the lovely gifts that people sent ... just from me for making it special and for confirming to Weezl (not that she needed confirmation) that youre a special and lovely bunch...
Re the cooking we did o/s proud!! Flapjacks were lovely so midwives will be happy plus our weezl can sleep safe in the knowledge that much is done - on the food, clothes front etc so hopefully can now relax a bit!!
My problem now is that I cant wait for him to appear! Am torn between wanting AM and Weezl to have some rest before he arrives and wanting to have a cuddle with him!! One thing for sure is that hes a very loved little man already!!
oo yes...bunny - dont know about you but if we're odd then hurrah! Would rather be this kind of odd any day!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -

Always meant to ask someone and never got around to it; with freezing sarnies, do you make sandwiches just as usual before freezing and do you put them into containers, plastic bags or wrap them to go into the freezer?
I've seen that people premake sandwiches and freeze them in various threads on OS and always meant to ask for more details.
Also, do you defrost 'naturally' for a few hours or blast them in the microwave? If the latter, how do you stop them drying out or 'frying?
Glad that the baby shower went so well!0 -

morning seakay,
I'm just looking with awe at the beautiful blue fluffy bodysuit! :T:THope you saw my message about it on the shower thread!
Re: sarnies, we find that if we take one out in the morning before work, then it's usually fine by lunch time. Once when in early pregnancy puky phase I wanted an early energy boost, so I gave it a boost of 30 seconds in the work microwave, and had my lunch at 11 o clock!:o
We make our houmous slightly more oily than typical, so when the sandwich defrosts it is more moist IYSWIM? This seems to work well with pates too, and makes them easier to spread...;)
HTH,

Morning Weezl!
Saw you had just posted here so thought I would pop in and say hi.
I don't like to start the daily thread til after 0400, so just browsing and reading recipes for now.
Hope all is well with you and the fergus the weezlite!

morning Diva!
Nice to see you,
I'm not great at keeping up with the daily, but spotted things have been tricky at your end, do hope they resolve soon if poss. :grouphug:Have one of these funny little hugs (if you like, they do look a little strange!)
D'you find when you're up at a bonkers hour that you need your brekkie really early?
I'm pretty peckish now!
Only trouble is, Mr Weezl/Acetate Monkey has bought some smoked salmon and eggs for lovely scramblies later as a valentines breakfast (awwwwwww cuteness!) and I don't want to spoil it! Think it's probably a bit of a bad idea to wake him and get him to cook it now though?!
What does your day look like?
Love Weezl and Fergus xxx (really gotta rethink that name now since someone came online specifically to say that the person they thought was AM would've had far more sense than to call their child Fergus  Made me think perhaps I should try to protect him from comments like that, by giving him a more conventional name)
