Hello lovely ones.
Saw zarazara yesterday on another thread, and Ceridwen this morning, hoorah, but am also missing the likes of Shaz and JTB and Sian the green, and plum pie and yategirl and munchki, and oh all the fab regulars who used to post on here! :hello::hello::hello::hello:
Hello to you all I really miss our little community, just couldn’t carry on with the challenge to keep it up!
Tomorrow, Friday the 13th I'm going to try to have a baking and cooking day to get my freezer to be my best friend when this ere Fergus pops out...
So ISOM is coming over (seems she may also have other ideas for the day too!!!;)), and I thought I'd post what I've planned.
Well the story starts troublingly. A frugal weezl reads in the Martin email that new customers at waitrose online get £75 of shopping for £60. Seems great! a 20% discount at waitrose, fab.... *Thinks*, I'll just go and look what they have to offfer... Starts well only filling trolley with things which cos of the saving are as cheap as asda smartprice (and yes, I was surprised too, but there was quite a lot in that category!) and then a few other things crept in cos since the loss of the geeky brain I ermm…. Couldn’t work out if they were frugal or not, so I clicked ‘em in the trolley anyway!!!
Will post how frugal it was overall when I see what we manage to create!
So the plan is: 3 or 4 trays of flapjacks, 1 for AM and the midwives while I’m in Labour, and the rest for AM to have handy for lunches after his paternity leave.
2 batches of bread, so 8 brown loaves in total, all for the freezer, 4 of which made up as houmous sarnies.
Ham hock and marrowfat pea slow-cooker stew with easy onions should make 10ish portions… (oh must go soak those peas!)
Sommat else with mince tomatoes and onions that could form a pasta or rice accompaniment without too much bother. Oh blow, didn’t click any tomatoes!!!!! Fergus please stop eating my brain Lad?;)
Sommat else with chicken drumsticks, onions, gravy and fine green beans that we can quickly defrost and have rustic styleee with chunks of bread
Suspect this may take all the time, so I’d better not be too ambitious! Calls ISOM, come back, it’s not a horrid day, all the onion prep has been done for us already by the peeps at eazyonions!
Doubtless it will turn into an adventure, as these things do! We will post updates!
Love to you all, even if I didn't name you!
Weezl x

Hello Weezl
Yep indeed Fergus - stop eating mummy's brain....think practically me laddo...you want her to have enough left to be able to figure out nice yummy things for you to eat and what toys you might like to play with....theres method in my madness here lad...;)
Thinks....time to introduce Fergus officially to Mummy. "Fergus - meet Weezl - this is your mummy. You'll be seeing a lot of her for the next 20 odd years - so be very nice to her now. I know you've obviously done a lot of thinking on picking some good parents for yourself - as you've indeed chosen 2 good people to be parents - you made a wise choice here lad. We know they'll love you and do the best they can for you. So - now - be good to them and PS: let mummy have a bit more sleep....."0 -
weezl you DIDNT ger read chopped onions did you...well I'm shocked as not even I, who cant leave any supermarket without spending at least 30 (used to be 50 so getting there!) would buy ready chopped onions...Fergus you and I will need to have a chat young man! You cant eat all mummy's brain or she'll forget when to push and you'll be in for ages and I fear that theres not much room left in that pink room of yours....plus then you wont get yer pressies waiting for you so behave eh!!
Now this there weezl may seem to have the day sorted...clearly invisibe posts work and I am pleased to report that I'm sort of ready for tomorrow's events!! Another package arrived yesterday and its with a neighbor so will collect at reasonable hour and confirm recipt!!
Will also "pack" nail varnish so that I can do that there weezl's toes cos bless her she cant reach em any more and [STRIKE]she needs a slave[/STRIKE] ya cant go giving birth with manky toe nails can you eh girls!! Just wont do!
I can also confirm that weezl geeky brain is on holiday...we stood in sains and looked at baby bottles and bless her she couldnt work it out - could confirm that they got their pricing wrong but not what the amount was...very un weezesque who normally says its this much while I just watch in amazement!!
Anyway...weezl I am up if you want to ring - only just got text!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
I am here Weezl.... reading away and waiting for that baby to be born!
Are you about ready (well as you can be!) now?
Am trying very hard to keep my inspiration and motivation going in the kitchen (am getting v.excited about my garden and things starting to grow!!!!) worries of possible redundancies (dh seems to be ok for a little longer) and family illness is kind of distracting atm....

hey yategirl!!!!:j:j:j How ya doin?
And what's already growing in your garden? Must be hardy to have survived that n Somerset, south Glous. weather you've been having!
I think Fergus maybe preparing to come, he's begun to engage his head I discovered yesterday. Gulp.
are we ready? erm, nope! But maybe you never are, and they just teach you on the job, by squeeling loudly if you get it wrong! My friends little girl soon taught me when i made the bath too cold!!!!
eta: poor OH, fingers crossed his post stays safe. And sorry bout family poorliness too
weezl xxxx

Hey Weezl,
If Fergus comes early, make it the 25th, it's a great day to be born, I can vouch for that!!
Hope you are all keeping well, I still lurk here, just not as often.
Well done ISOM on reducing your spend from £50 to £30!
Germ0 -
hello strangers!! Germish hows that place you in? I wave at you when I see you on a good day!! Yategirl sorry hubbies job is in question...
Getting there Germish but still a long way to go!!
Dont panic they can have engaged heads for a while weezl...but maybe get the car seat just in case...my fear is that he'll be as long as his daddy and will soon just poke out anyway for lack of space!! As for being ready dear followers those of you wh have had babies will know that youre never ready!! The essentials are in so our weezl will be fine and am will cope well do as he a calm kind of fellow!! (kicking furiously with legs under calm exterior!!) and if the worst come sto teh worst they can scream help and I'll come a running! Woke at 5am briefly and thought my phone was going...oooo shes in labour fuddledy thinks I but no...she wasnt!! bah...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! I'm here me lovvlies ! (just !)
Thanks for replying to PM ISOM - will deffo get out tomorrow !
Weezl - don't worry about the brain shrinkage, you won't remember how much it's shrunk by once you've had little Fergus (won't remember because you can't remember ! lol) :rotfl: Re: the cooking - are you planning on being in labour long . You've got enough flapjack for years lol :rotfl: She's a lucky midwife !
I used to put the car keys in the fridge (and it didn't happen just once either) when I was expecting my second. It got to the point where hubby had to hide them 'cause he was worried we'd not find them when the time arrived to go to hospital !
Anyway, enuf about me, it's all exciting ! Am really looking forward to receiving the news that babby is here and safe. I think we ought to have a virtual official 'wet the baby's head' evening  (although my typing might not be up to much once I've had a few:eek: :rotfl: ).
I really must go and do some housework now otherwise kids will have no where to sit down this weekend:rotfl: .
Have a WONDERFUL day tomorrow Weezl/AM/Fergus/ISOM - enjoy xxxx:jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0
