I thought that eBid had unlimited length auctions for no listing fee, as the only way to try to break into the eBay monopoly. In which case, why should you not bother selling on there?

It is quite possible to get an unlimited auction length with no listing fee but for that you need to pay a yearly membership. If you choose free membership then you can still get free listing, but you are limited to 7 days (it might be 10 I haven't checked my account recently and terms do change).

I'm sure that if you are interested in the costs of the various levels of paid membership to gain the advantage of unlimited listings with free relists then someone will oblige with a link.

I have lifetime seller + membership which cost me £44 three years ago. this membership is also available on weekly, monthly and annual ( recurring) subscriptions.
You can also list at the lower 'seller' membership level without paying any kind of subscription. Listing is still free, however you do pay a FVF on items sold. Her's a link to the membership levels http://uk.ebid.net/help_money.php
There is no such word as "bidded". I bid, you bid, they bid, Ebid ;)

The place seems rather doomed from the start as "ebid.com" is owned by a cybersquatter.

I think its quite telling that over 3 months elapsed between posts #105 and #106 and that to make a profit you need to sell on another e-auction site.

If ebid were any good, ebay would have bought them out by now and swept them under the carpet.

I'm sorry I didn't post on the thread for a while- I was busy selling stuff! It's quite likely there will be other gaps because my trading will always become before advice giving.

Mpython, I don't think anyone has ever said you can make a living 'just' using ebid. Many sellers use more than one venue.

This thread is for tips and advice on how to make best use of ebid as a venue. What I will never understand about forums is why people post on advice threads when they are not looking for - or giving advice?
    • If you have used ebid and have some tips to share- this is a good place to post them.
    • If you have used ebid and have some questions about how things work. This is a good thread to ask them in
    • If you have used ebid and have had problems with or on ebid you want to raise- again this is a good thread to raise the issues in, as your experiences may help someone else who is thinking of trying the site.
If you are reading this thread and for whatever reasons you don't want to use ebid, or maybe you used ebid years ago and don't have any recent knowledge, You're not looking for help or advice on ebid, and you don't have any up to date knowledge of the site. Then maybe this isnt the thread for you.

I will continue to visit this thread when i receive notifications in my mailbox, and i will try to give help and advice to people who have genuine questions about ebid.

the IT world and the normal retail world is littered with companies that ask for a yearly membership fee. then go bust taking your dosh with it.
we all remember the ISPs and the video shops etc etc...
most sane peeps would only pay a yearly membership fee to a very well established company. ie the AA/RAC.
