I'm male.
You needn't buy much lingerie. Taking it off time and again would never grow old..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Hi everyone, hope all is well with you. Well I need some long haul magic and wisdom from you. There is currently £109.80 in the bank, between now and next thursday total direct debits of £98.53 are going out. There is money of approx £115 going in tomorrow and we also have to get shopping and petrol and some new shoes for DS - we can not put this off, they are getting really tight and we have already put it off a couple of times recently. Next friday we will have a direct debit of £61.33 going out and probably only £70 approx going in! Any ideas.0

Swap the direct debits for standing orders. DD come out when THE BANKS WANT THEM TO but SO come out when you want them to if you do internet banking. I frequently... and i mean maybe twice a week for every one swap the SO date to co incide with the money being in the bank. That way you can buy the shoes today and pay the bills next week. All my creditors agree to me making my payments on or before the last day of the month. This allows me to juggle the payments but it has to be checked daily especially if you are on a fixed income.
I also pay my water, council tax and an energy bill ( debt) by SO. I onlt have 3 DD house insureance, tv licence and mobile phone.

Thanks for the advice CC I will definitely bear that in mind and try it. At the mo we are ok, have got the shopping and petrol today - went to ASDAs for a change, but still ended up spending the same as at Morrisons, the difference being only pennies. I dont think any of the supermarkets are significantly cheaper than the others nowadays. Have a good weekend everyone.0

hi all....been reading the thread and decided to join in...debts of around 71k plus mortgage of 80k....lbm last year but have struggled to keep to the budget because have serious inability to commit wholeheartedly to something which feels so permanent....have promised myself time and time again that i will get it sorted, then let myself down through feelings of deprivation...
however...having worked reasonably closely with much of the budget (have savings for the first time in about five years...its basically an emergency buffer i decided i needed)....i know that if i commit to the programme i will succeed in winning the battle sooner, so have decided to finally do so.
tomorrow is the fresh start day :j (i've had so many of these but this time i desperatly want this to happen)....i am quitting smoking, having at least three no spend days a week, sticking to my budget, starting car boot sales to earn extra cash and making sure that every day i make a difference to my debt. Most of the 71k is at 0% interest..i renegotiated with creditors when my situation became dire...i have about 3k worth of debt with interest and once i have my buffer at 1k all my spare cash will go towards paying them off. When i have completed that (aiming for april 2009) i am switching to a chuck everything at it mortgage and reducing that asap..then the rest of the 0% debts will be cleared. So, I am hoping to be debt free entirely in 2028. _party_ but am hoping to acheive that sooner with determination and support from this site:T
sorry for the ramble...thanks for listening!!:o0
