Evening all.
well, Big sis's visit was lovely. We ate absolutely loads for dinner and then went for a very bracing walk along the beach to burn some of the calories (and booze!) off. The weather was very kind to us - although the wind was cold, the sun shone and I feel I've got a little bit sunburnt on my face - it's either that or windburn! They've left now to head up back to London and have done most of the washing up for me. So, all I need to do now is find something on TV to watch so I can flop in the armchair in front of it for the rest of the evening.
There's also a little bit of wine left in a bottle that really should be used up - it would be a pity to waste it wouldn't it?I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Will sitting down with a cup of coffee and left-over Easter eggs count as "Flying"?
Oh.. just so it's about kitchens... will looking through the magazines designing a new kitchen count?
(we have no cooker!, fridge is held together with duct tape and a stretchy, cupboard is balanced on two pieces of wood, knobs have gone awol, lost the "hot" and "cold" indicators on the tap, tap leaks, sink and drainer slope the wrong way, actually worn off the surface of the worktop, tiles cracked by back door, underplinth heater cover never fitted, pullout table has one leg, .....)0 -
i might join in this week.....
37 weeks pregnant tomorrow and need to keep ontop of the place now... dread people wanting to come visit when baby is born as at the mo its only ever my family who just "ignore" the mess.. (i.e. nicki and mum both offer to do stuff for me "to help" when u know its just they think im a slob!)
If OHs family wanna come here to see new baby (we dont live together... long story! ) I wanna be super-duper-fly-lady.. as his mother is hyacinth bucket re-incarnated and his sisters place is like something out of ideal home magazine despite having 3 small children and 2 dogs! Then theres the midwife to consider too.... eek!
So as much as bump and energy will allow i will be fly-ladying it this week....Just hope this sudden urge to be clean and organised isnt my nesting instinct?! I still havent packed my hopsital bag!0 -
Evening all.
Family all gone and DH upstairs supervising bedtime. Going to do some ironing and finish the bottle of wine, fire still blazing and a lovely friend has just offered me more wood which is great.
Will sort out a list later.
Serena Sarah Raven is very expensive - 20% off if you order through the boden website link at the moment. A friend wants a couple of bits so I will look through the catalogue and I'll pm you what I intend to get and you can advise if you think I can get it elsewhere if that is ok?
Catlover1 I never knew there was an anti flylady thread - I need to take a peek. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I've promised myself that, if I get through the list to the end of the week, I can go to the garden centre and get some more fish. My brother is getting a new aquarium to match the lounge furniture, so I am buying (at considerably reduced cost!) his old one, which will go very nicely with what's in my sunlounge, then my son is freecycling the old one direct to one of his friends. However, my aquarium had dwindled to only 5 fish - 1 shark, 1 large something or other catfish, 1 ghost catfish and two other tiddlers, so it needs a bit more life in it.

justamum - sounds like my Oh is similar to yours every 6 months or so I loose the plot and threaten his [strike]junk[/strike] posessions with the bin if they arent cleared in 24/36hrs it works everytime since I thorough out a couple of minor things of his - give it a try and see the results (if not brave enough hide a couple of bits and see what happens)
pigpen - my two finish up on Thursday until the 17th so will rope them in then, so will hold over your list until later this week into the next, for some reason I hadn't realise that your eldest was mid teens I think I thought that your brood for some reason were younger.
My list for tomorrow will be all of pigpens plus someof mine and also Tuesdays list (taking the chance to catch up with having a day off tomorow)

EASTER EBAY CHALLENGE!!
Last week we spent time taking 25 photographs of items we could or wished to ebay...
Today we shall list some... we.. don't just stand there go do it!! LOL
You can either list them immediately onto ebay or keep them saved in auctiva or turbolister and upload them all at once.. but you are going to reclaim some of the cost of those easter eggs!!
Aim for 5 a day listing.. if you do more.. woohoo have a dog biscuit.. if you do fewer.. never mind.. every penny helps!!
Killer Kitchen - Monday
Level One
[STRIKE]Clear and wipe work surfaces[/STRIKE]
Up to 5 ebay items listed!
Level Two
[STRIKE]
Sweep and Mop the floor
Wipe the cupboards, appliances and all those manky corners!!
[/STRIKE]
Level Three
[strike]Defrost the freezer if needed[/strike]!!Did a month ago not doing again until the move.
[STRIKE]
Wipe over all those small appliances.. don't forget the inside of the microwave!
Wipe out the gicky parts of the fridge and have a quick check for what needs restocking.. I have locusts off school!!
[/STRIKE]
Extras- [strike]Clean oven/hob if you must.. *rolls eyes[/strike]* Di it last week :j not doing again this
- HHI .. needs more than HH
- Clean windows and sills
- [strike]
- treat the pets for fleas!!! This is prime time for them to be developing an infestation.. the last thing you need in your house! .. left on in case you were lazy like me and missed this!
- [/strike]OH did this last week
- Go play a game with the children who have helped you today!!
- Clear and wipe the table they do anyway
- Load the dishwasher (DW) if you have one they help with
- Can you fill the washing machine (WM) with things that are all the same colour and switch it on?? This is a very important thing to learn.. many big clever daddies struggle with this job.. even our daddy.. so if you can do this.. you are cleverer than him! so true I dont have boys but would make this a priority to teach them _ I married an only one whose mother spoilt him (although did teach him to cook & iron so cant complain apart from the dyed washing)
- If you are a bigger little person could you wipe over the fronts of the kitchen cupboards and fridge/freezer/washing machine.. sometimes you need to check the insides too as they get a bit sticky.. will keep for next week
Thats me for tomorrow.
Update then.0 -

NO NO NO - accept all help going believe me you will be glad of it soon, I have found that most people offer tohelp you not because they think you are messy but because they have been through a pregnany and want to help SO PLEASE just sit back when they offer - it doesnt last so make the most of it.0 -
Anti-Flylady? No way! You saved my sanity. I've missed you all so much while I've been laptop-less.
BTW - I haven't read all the stuff I've missed, so:hello: to any new people. I hope you are all finding your feet and enjoying flying.
Has anyone given birth or anything equally exciting?
I should also say :easter_os but my sister and I have been a bit :EasterBuntoday, which is unusual for both of us.DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419
