Here you go JaneC managed to find and copy it
CHEWY SOFT FLOUR TORTILLA
2 CUPS PLAIN FLOUR about 240g
1 ½ TSP BAKING POWDER
1TSP SALT
2TSP VEG OIL
¾ CUP WARM MILK -180ml
Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl
Whisk milk, oil and salt
Pour into flour -stirring to mix
Once mixed -turned out onto a lightly floured worktop and knead for 2 mins
Cover and leave for 15 mins -it won’t rise but needs to relax
Cut into 8 balls (approx 50g each)
Cover and leave to relax for 10 mins
Roll each one out into a round -approx 8”
Heat a heavy frying pan (preferably cast iron)
Drop in one tortilla and turn after about 2 mins -the surface should bubble -press down with a teatowel (watch you don't steam your fingers;) )
Place inside a dry tea towel to keep warm whilst you cook the rest
You can freeze the balls of dough -but they will be a little stickier once defrosted -but as a bonus they roll out bigger too :T

Oh dear.....
I have been transfered to a new office at work, first day today, and this now means I am 4 doors down from Marks and spencer foodhall:eek: Had to have a quick look in there and came out with one carrier bag costing £28:eek:
I knew they were gonna start charging for 'em, but that is a bit excessive:rotfl:
Thought I was being clever buying a pot of paprika off the market at 60p then called into MrT for bread & saw it for 48p:mad: Didn't stop me spending another £8:33, but my panny BM should be here soon:j Can't wait!!!!Just hope the offspring don't play with it if it comes while I'm away--I know they're paying for it, but it's MY new toy & I wunna play first:o
RedSquirrel, when you said a "...quick spinach, garlic, butter & parmasan 'sauce'..."did you just wilt the spinach in the butter then add the cheese? It sounds devine & something I could do just for me while the offspring have their carnivore tendancies fullfilled:p
Re: the muffins.....is it worth investing in the silicone trays, or just carry on with the paper cases do you think? So sorry to be a thicite but like I said---I'm stuck in the dark ages with a lot of the food ways now:o
I'm making those crispie cakes today--bought the blue-stripe crispies thinking they'd be OK but no-one likes them, not even Pup!--so wish me luck cuz I always end up with a sticky blob.
Very often for Sunday tea, we would have bread & dripping.....that was in the days when you were allowed to have fat on yer meat! Used to make the best roasties too....pass the kitchen roll--I'm drooling!!!!Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Hi everyone
Will be a NSD for me, as I'm day off today and have no intentions of buying anything. Going to the osteopath later, will be straight there and back as I have loads to do. Am having my kitchen painted today and didn't realise how dusty everything was till I took it down from the cupboards lol. So have to get back and clean it all up before work tomorrow, good chance to throw stuff out I suppose.
MrsMc, thanx for the tortilla recipe, am making it and freezing them for a later date. I'm sure everyone on here has made it already. Thanx for the lovely recipes, you're an inspiration.
Cheers
Casper

Hi,
Just an update from sunny (not!) Baltimore.
Got bored yesterday and did my Tesco online shop to last until the end of the month to be delivered on Wednesday when I'm back (hopefully!)
Came to £33.37 (inc delivery, couldn't find any codes that worked) but we'll see what happens when it turns up. Mostly fresh fruit, veg and dairy stuff - why is it all so expensive to eat healthily?
Anyway, my total now should be £85.36 but I'll wait until it arrives to update the total properly just in case there are any surprises!
By the way, does anyone know what happens if you're not in to collect your delivery? Just thinking about being delayed flying home etc - I've booked it with consideration of being late by a few hours but what happens if the worst happens IYKWIM?
Have a good day

I melted butter and fried some chopped garlic in it, once that was slightly golden added spinach (frozen this time but have done it with fresh), gently heated until spinach is cooked, then added parmesan and a bit more butter and stirred it together. Then just chucked spaghetti in and mixed it altogether.. very quick and tastyDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Welcome damncat, hope you have fun being a party of the grocery challenge.
I'm just updating quickly - going for day 10 of my no-spendathon, so no further grocery purchases to report. Getting a bit low on a couple of things and will definitely need to top up before the month ends, but all OK so far, especially as far as the soup kitchen goes! More stock, anyone? :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
