Hi there Ladies (and Gentlemen if there are any of you reading this) :hello:
Just to let anyone who may be interested know that I went to Boots last week and was originally going for some of that Bio-Oil stuff which helps with scars as I am getting married in July and have a few patches which could do with evening out on my face first. Anyway....I saw that the Bio-Oil was £9.99 but noticed on the ACM that there was a 100 extra pts voucher if you bought the Boots Expert Scar Care Serum. I couldn't find any on the shelf so asked the SA who said they had some in the back. I asked her how much it was and when she scanned it, showed up as £5.99 and was a much bigger bottle than the bio-oil. So I thought I would give it a try...anyway when I looked at my receipt on the way out, it actually scanned at £2.99 and then I got my extra 100 pts with ACM voucher so only really £1.99 :j
I know not many of you will need scar care serum but the reason I am posting this also is because I have been using P & P for a while now and this serum bares very similar properties as the P & P!! It is the same colour/consistency and I think it seems to make my skin just as nice as the P & P. Weird I know but would be interested to see what anyone else thinks and if it is just me ! :rotfl:
Happy Bootsing All
Jo x
Here are the ingredients for the P+P (with a few typos):
cyclopentasiloxane
acqua
butylene glycol
dimethicone crosspolymer
cyclohexasiloxane
glycerin
dimethicone copolyol
sodium ascorbyl phosphate
polysorbate 20
magnesium sulfate
phenoxyethanol
sodium pca
retinyl palmitate
methylparaben
propylene glycol
lupinus albus
carbomer
butylparaben
ethylparaben
propylparaben
isobutylparaben
panax ginseng
morus alba
tocopherol
palmitoyl pentapeptide-3
So you can compare the ingredients. (Also, apart for Parfum, the Time Delay Wrinkle reducing night serum is exactly like the P+P.)
Jo_2k, if you don't mind my asking, what do you use the scar serum for? My OH has an old scar on his face, would it be any good for him. TIA0 -
You would have been proud of me earlier in Boots. I am not a Bootser like some of you ladies on this thread but I do read this thread for tips. Anyway I wanted one of the new P&P gift sets and had a £5 off voucher so went to my local Boots and grabbed a gift set and one of the GWP sets, as I was paying I saw that they had mags hidden behind the till area so I asked the lovely girl if I could have one as I had heard that there was a voucher in the back for a free highlighter so I scooted over to the No7 counter and grabbed a pink highlighter while she ripped the voucher out of the mag. Anyway it wouldn't scan so she had to call the manager over, but the manager was lovely and popped it though free for me...I then had to give the girl my £5 voucher and, thankfully, that scanned ok. I am soooooo pleased £15 for the P&P gift set the GWP and a highlighter! I would have bought the gift set anyway as it is a bargain and I am dying to try the new moisturisers as my son squeesed out the whole of my No7 Hydro Quench night cream so I need a new one.
Thanks all you gave me the guts to try my luck.
I am so tempted to do it again, I love the GWP, I was going to use a £5 voucher to buy the lip gloss that was in it, my daughter always wants mini mascaras, I have wanted to try a lip liner for a while but didn't want to buy a full size and I also wanted to try the time resisting day cream. I don't think there is one thing in it I won't use *thumbs up*0 -
BTW if you are in the Bristol area they did have 2 P&P gift sets left in the Eastgate store this morning and all the staff there are lovely.0

If you do it all again...don't forget the 250 point No 7 voucher in the bottom of the GWP....take it and add it to your card with the next lot you buy.:beer:0 -

Sorry I am a complete newbie and have been enjoying the boots threads very much, everybody seems really nice and helpful. Hope this is ok as it is my first post.
I have had some success online and have plucked up courage to ask for some advise. I have the vouchers out of the magazine and I have the £5 No7 Ruby and Millie voucher plus a £3 Sanctuary voucher. Could anyone advise the best ways to get your monies worth as people seem to be getting fantastic deals and I am little confused just how they manage it.
My local store is Stafford which is not so great but I travel to the Fort, Merry Hill and Stoke to try and get the bargains.
Any advice would be gratefully received. Many thanks, and thanks for all the tips so far.:j
Hey, my store is Stafford too.Student MoneySaving Club member 017!0 -
Had quite a good shop at Preston Boots today, I bought a Sanctuary Weekender gift set for £10.00 & got the free GWP, a No.7 Illuminating powder, using free voucher, No.7 handwash & free GWP using my £5.00 voucher & 150 extra points voucher from ACM machine (I did try to use my extra 250 points voucher from my last GWP but it wouldn't go through.) I got another £5.00 voucher back.
I forgot to look to see if they had any of the P&P gift sets so i'll have to go back in during the week.0 -

Take them back and tell them you are allergic to it. Don't take the receipt, or your card, then the till won't know it is you and that you got the extra points.
Someone answered you earlier, if they are on a special offer at the moment, I would wait until they go back to full price before taking them back
Hi i took it back and said my skin was allergic to it and they said they could exchange it so i got a dress for my new born neice. As i was buying no7 with it and had a no7 250 points skin voucher i gave my card for the exchange to get the points. Should i have done the n07 separtley and then not used my card at all for the dressMarried 09/09/090 -

I've managed to print off 3 of some vouchers in the same shopping trip before - just put your card back in the machine and see what comes up! In fact you can just leave your card in the machine, go back to previous screens and see if the "print voucher" icon is still on the screen for that offer - if it is, just press it and it'll print another one off. Good luck!0
