Doctor " What's wrong with it?"
Man " Nothing, but it's a good 'un 'ent it?"
I have my own embarassing incidents, like the day of my vasectomy (I love anonymous fora!) As I sat in the waiting room, there were 2 patients of mine waiting for the same op. In the day ward outside was another (Lady) patient waiting to have an apicectomy that I had refered her in for, and to top it all, when I was wheeled into the theatre, one of the theatre nurses was also a patient!!!!!!!
I might as well have just hung a banner outside the practice saying "Toothsmith is having the snip today"Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I was working in theatre when my ex-school teacher came in for the snip.

Iv'e only just caught on to this thread, but my boyf had a 'down below' problem last year, his testicles swelled to the size of an orange, and was bright red. Needless to say he was in pain, and didnt want to go to the doctors, but I made a same day appointment, made him go - and found out it was Epididymal Orchitis, the tube infection, had antibiotics and major strength painkillers, and was right as rain a couple of days later.
Doc told him to thank his girlfriend though (me - ) as it could have lasted quite a while without treatment, and could have made him infertile  . Not that I want kids right now or anything, but you never know!!
He learned a big lesson though - Docs arent scary, and get things sorted - sticking head in sand only gives you sandy ears.....
Incidentally, I had the same doctor a couple of months ago - and had to look at my bits (no emergency female doc in the house, boy was I) - He's now seen both our bits!! Lol
For any boys lurking that are worried about things, please go to the docs, I told the doc I was nervous and embarrassed, but he was lovely to me and sorted me out quicktime!

Breast cancer: This is a link to Womens Hour today in which Michael Howard talks of his fathers death from Breast Cancer.
In order to get the risk into perspective they did point out that while there are 41,000 female cases diagnosed a year only 300 cases are diagnosed in men. However the following links provide good information and backup if needed. Posting it here to point out that lumps need investigating whereever they occur.

This BBC news health page
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3445199.stm
shows survival rates for testicular cancer and it appears that they are very high indeed.
Most male and female GPs have seen lots of male genitals and really couldn't give a monkeys about what yours look like, they are only interested in curing any health problem that may be down there.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Have just found this thread today. So glad all well. Well done for getting it checked out and for telling us about it! You might have made someone else who's fretting pluck up the courage to get their chin up and their pants down! :T
It goes to show that often these things are not a problem, and when they are, the earlier they're sorted the better.
I'm pretty glad I plucked up the courage to have a smear test when I was experiencing some pain as I needed an operation which may have been a bigger deal had I left it. :jMay all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
