Default Welcome back!!

Well done Martin and all of your team for getting the site up and running again. Let's hope the site can stay up and running and we can beat the rotten so and so's who have set out to destroy such a fantastic informative and friendly site and forum. I already pass on the details of this site to practically everyone I meet, and think I might have become an MSE bore (if there is such a thing!). If everyone continues to pass on details of this site then perhaps we can go some way to making up for the weekends loss.

If there is anything we can do to help I'm sure you will have the support of all MSE'ers. The site has been up and running for 30 minutes, and already there are 2348 users online, of which 1778 are guests, so people are finding their way to the site. I notice all the big guns are online as well.

Will it be possible to find out where the attack came from? So happy to see you back though.

I was just so disillusioned to realize that there could be such callous people - I've only read about evil in life and such malicious activities - for once now experienced it and was so upset and angry on behalf of several who seek guidance so desperately from these forums on money related matters. I felt for the forum team too - very much - everything you've done is very much appreciated.

And back to the PPI campaign - this is one fantastic cause - come to think of it actually there's an element of deviousness about these companies - they pretend doing a great favor for the individual who has borrowed whilst all the while they make us pay premiums to protect themselves from compromising with profits specially when you think of how they misell their products.

Just before the site went down, I had a huge problem with my bank.
A nasty random attack threatening to bancrupt me I had done nothing.
All sorted big appology from bank see "what am I supposed to do " under credit card bit.
I relied on this site to get me through those few days or was it hours.
Thankyou to this site and those who helped.

Well done Martin and the Team for bringing us back!!! U guys do a great job on behalf of everyone.

I think its incredibly sad that someone decided to attack this site...... As far as I see it, this site is more than just about reclaiming money..... this place, the forums especially, is a place where people can come in their proverbial hour of need, and seek advice/support/guidance for more than just money matters..... It can be a sanctuary for people from a harsh world.

I hope the instigator of the attack can sleep well at night knowing that over the last couple of nights, there may have been people out there in need of some serious help, who now, thanks to a complete moron, may not come back to this site and find the help they need.

Call me a drama queen, but thats how I see it!

Long live MSE, Martin Lewis for Prime Minister!

For those viewers of Martin's Masterclass on PPI on Friday who sadly weren't able to get into the forums and ultimately the main site, you'll find the article here and a link to a video Martin has made with all the usual passion

I really felt for you through all this. I do believe in Karma though (I've seen it in action too often not to!) and am fairly certain that those responsible for the attack on the site will get their dues. If there's anything in the Karma thing, then it works both ways - with all the good that you do for the rest of us, good things will be coming your way in bucketloads.

I'm already subscribed to the MSE e-mail and preach the MSE word to anyone willing to listen, so I've been at a loss over what else I could do to help. If there IS anything else we can all do, let us know. We won't let them win.

Every cloud has a silver lining, so they say, and something good may come of all this yet

I doubt they'll lose much sleep. DDOS attacks and the botnets behind them on this scale are quite sophisticated and are linked to major criminal gangs. Although I called them idiots in another thread, unfortunately they are intelligent and highly organised which is why the best way to defeat them is take away their tools, i.e. our PCs. By making sure they are secure and clean.
