...... which do you go for?
Do you buy Bogof's simply because they are Bogof's or because they would form part of your menu plan/shopping list even if they were not?

I only buy them (generally) if I was buying it anyway and it works out cheaper than what I usually buy. For example, if a branded washing up liguid is BOGOF or x% free I'll buy it if it works out cheaper than the Asda/Tesco own that I normally buy. Or I'd buy Rowntree jelly at BOGOF because it would workout cheaper than Asda own. Even if I wasn't going to buy them I's get a couple to keep in the cupboard so I wouldn't need them next time. But I wouldn't buy BOGOF jelly ready made in those little tubs because I never buy it anyway.0

The only BOGOF I always buy is bread...as much as I can fit in my freezer. But before I started budgeting I was always tempted by them whether we needed them or not, because they were 'bargains'Use words that are soft and sweet in case you have to eat them.0

I buy BOGOF's of items that I wasn't planning to buy this week - but would be buying anyway within the next month or two, or sometimes as treat for the kids/looking ahead to birthday party food (eg frozen sausage rolls etc)0

I only buy them if it's something I use anyway or where the price works out cheaper. My local co-op was doing their dishwasher tablets at £2.79 for 20 on a BOGOF So I stocked up and bought about 8 boxes as that worked out cheaper than anywhere else.
If a childrens treat is on BOGOF then I will sometimes treat them with something I consider too expensive to buy normally.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

I usually tend to stick to products I would normally buy anyway and if it's something I use regularly, i.e. loo rolls, coffee, toiletries etc then I'll stock up so I have enough until they come around on BOGOF again
When I do my shopping (online) I always trawl the offers lists first and if anything catches my eye that I might buy as a treat occassionally or fancy trying out but is usually too expensive, I'll get it while it's on offer.
I'm always aware of falling into the marketing trap and something my dad always said sticks in my mind ... "it's not saving you money if you wouldn't have bought it anyway""An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

I look for vegetarian reduced-for-quick-sale bogofs (well I would, wouldn't I - check the name
) and hope the Gods are with me and the reduction is greater than the cost of the goodies :j .
I've noticed recently that there aren't so many about - more like buy one get the second half price, etc. ShameI haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

BOGOF's are my worst downfall and particularly if I have my daughter with me. I do try to buy only what I would use and put the free one in the freezer, then I forget its there or worse still I forget to put it in the freezer and we are eating sausages all week
I have managed to stop myself buying new things that are on BOGOF as invaribly my daughter will decide after the first one that she doesn't like it :mad:0 -
I buy a lot on BOGOF, but usually things I would use anyway. I stock up on toilet roll, deodorants etc. but sometimes buy my shop around what is on offer. Hubby will often say "Was that on offer?", if there are 3 of some things! Knows me too well me thinks...
JT xIt's great in here!0 -
My local cash and carry has kitchen rolls on BOGOF starting tomorrow. I'm getting excited about buying 24 kitchen rolls. Am I sad? Here I go again on my own....0
