I cant beleive my luck being scammed AGAIN

About 5 weeks ago I sold some disneyland paris tickets which we intended to use when we bought them but werent going to before they expired in March 2010.

he buyer sent me a email to say he went to disneyland tried to use the tickets but aparently was declined as the tickets were used. This is impossible as Ive not used them

Also when we went before, they punch a hole in your ticket to say its been used and there were no punctured holes in this ticket, they can see this.

Im worried now as hes saying if I dont refund hes going to the police and notifying ebay!

I assume its over 45 days so they won't be able to claim via paypal (so ebay wont care either). I assume you have the original receipts (or bank statement).

i would personally reply that they were unused and state the bit about holes etc, and that if they get evidence from Disneyland that they were used you will contact disneyland and look into the matter yourself. If they wanted to take the matter further eg small claims they would need this evidence anyway.

Oh and put them on your blocked bidders list

Call his bluff, for starters the bizzies won't give him the time of day for a civil dispute.

i declined the refund stated my points on paypal claim, he paid 12th dec opened claim with paypal on 27th jan, my paypal is negative so paypal are taking the dispute even though it was a day over the 45 days, unless they dont count the day you buy as a day?

Ok if he managed to open a paypal claim. You need to be proactive otherwise you will lose. I hope you had the serial numbers of the tickets? If so you should contact DL and see if they can tell you the date these tickets were used. Also see if you can get something at writing from them stating your point about the holes in the tickets. You need to get as much info as you can to submit to paypal

I could be wrong here but there is a chance that these tickets may not be applicable for buyer protection as they may not technically be transferable from the purchaser. Someone else may be able to confirm this but I wouldn't bank on it

Where did you get the tickets from originally? Were they from an authorised vendor?

As above, you'll need the serial number of the tickets to defend this.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Paypal is useless when it comes to the seller.

I sold a new mobile phone a few years back. Worked 100% before I sent it and there was more than enough packaging to protect it. Buyer claimed it never worked, filed a dispute and paypal refunded him making my account over £100 negative.

Buyer sent back a different phone to the one I sent him as I noted all the manufacturer numbers. Paypal couldn't care less, just insisted I pay back the paypal money they helped themselves to.

This is something that has worried me. I generally take a pic of the item's serial number before sending and I enclose one of those paypal packing slips with the serial number shown in the additional info box. I wonder if the only way to absolutely avoid this happening is to list the serial number in the auction?

Not absolutely, but putting most digits of the IMIE # etc. in the auction will put off scammers.
