Waste not want not...

What odd things do you keep for re-use?

Here are some of mine, but you will have to guess what I do with them!

cold tea and coffee
lemonade bottles
the fluff out of the tumble drier
carrier bags
jars (from jam, peanut butter etc.)
the card from the middle of packs of tights
juice from tinned tomatoes
leftover rice

Here she goes again making me feel totally wasteful by throwing those things out. :D

So what do you do with cold tea and coffee?

I dont actually save any of those things except carrier bags. I would though if I knew what to use them for!

    Fluff...
It makes lighting fires easier, indoors and out (i have an incinerator in the garden)
Tea and coffee can be used to soak fruit when making fruitcakes, or use the coffee for tiramisu or iced coffee.

Tom and Barbara Goode would be proud (i hope):)

I put my fluff in the garden. When the birds build their nests, they usually pick it up to use as a soft liner.

We have an agreement.....I give them fluff, they don't poop all over my washing, lol. Obviously just wishing here.....:)

Olive oil from jars of olives, sun-dried tomatoes etc

Vinegar from pickled onions, cabbage, beetroot etc

Hey presto...very tasty, and sometimes very colourful, free salad dressing!

Circulars etc with no writing on the back get made into scribble pads

Used envelopes (big ones), get cut down to make new ones; ordinary ones get a label (usually freebies from Avery!), stuck over my address and then get re-used. Jiffy bags get the same treatment.

Jars i think must be for the jam/chutneys etc you make yourself.

lemonade bottles- place them round the garden as it's supposed to keep cats away????
