I had to wait two months before I first got something and then I haven't had anything since (three more months). We got a book which was officially worth £7.99 but we're giving it to one of Alice's friends as a birthday present because he will appreciate it more and we would normally spend up to £5 so that means we've just broken even so far. I wonder if maybe the people with younger ones get more stuff?

Same here! I got some food pots which were officially worth £5.99 but I was planning on buying ones from Wilkos for 60p!

Gisi - hurt my hand as when I got to hospital and they examined me my waters then went and their was meconium in them so had to have a canula put in my hand. During the final pushing stage they took the gas and air off me to get me to concentrate on pushing and I was gripping the handles either side and bent the canula tube backwards resulting in two fingers being completely numb and a constant pins and needles which is still there now! They think Ive got carpal tunnel along with damaging some nerves so got to wear the support for now and see the physio soon.
    .

I had a canula in that got ripped out sometime in the pushing stage. I noticed when the baby was along in resus. It was hanging off the tape on my hand all mangaled and there was blood everywhere! Sure I lost more blood from that than anywhere else! It didn't hurt til the pethadine started wearing off hee hee

  • Was there a full moon or something last night???
Matthew was also a little horror up at least every two hours feeding and then refusing to go back to sleep for ages woke up this morning with him lying horizontally across my chest (ooops). Feel like crap this morning he is now lying in his pram in the living room making little sheep and horse noises. He will be 5 weeks on Friday and I am struggling to get him to take more than 3oz at a feed- he falls asleep and cannot be woken (unless it is night time and he is being put back in his moses basket lol) I change his nappy, strip him and tickle his feet but it does not work. He has taken ten 3oz bottles from 7am yesterday to 7am this morning, think my nipples would have disintegrated if i was still breast feeeding.
    Coming soon............
Brand new baby first showing in November!
Brand new baby boy (Matthew) born 3 weeks early weighing a diddly 5lb 4 oz!!

Susan, have you tried giving them an email to let them know you've not received anything? It might give them a push to send you something else...
Thatnks for the suggestion but I don't think it fair that people should be sent things based on how much they e-mail them which is why I haven't.

Actually that reminds me, I got a reply from Sainsbury's yesterday saying, "We're looking into your comments and we aim to be back in touch within the next two days."

Sadly, I think that's how society operates sometimes... He who shouts loudest gets most attention...

Good news about Sainsburys... I was thinking about complaining about the free sample of follow on formula I got in my Tesco magazine... I feel it could undermine a breastfeeding relationship...

  • Oh, and argos obviously have a room full of untrained monkeys doing their email replies... But 1 phonecall and I have an order number and my order is due in the next couple of days...

    Morning all!

Managed to dream feed the monster at 11pm last night and then she woke for a feed at 3 and again at 6 before dropping off till 8!! Highly unusual to get such good sleep out of her and I'm feeling much better. Husband not getting his scan/operation today either, and probably not tomorrow, so he's likely to be in the hospital over the weekend and not out before next week. Since I'm supposed to be in Stuttgart towards the end of next week at a conference I'm not sure what to do next. Hmmm.
