Poor Holly awoke crying about 6am this morning – clearly in pain at being unable to pass wind. I don’t know what to do about it. I thought the Infacol was helping, but it seems to be worse again this week. The poor thing is really distressed (but thankfully she rarely full on cries). So I had her up at 6 and made a bottle, as she went to sleep a bit earlier last night and I thought she might be hungry, but she didn’t even want it. Ended up giving her a soother which seemed to comfort her and then she went back to sleep until 9am. So now she is fed, and back asleep! So that’s 10.5 hours between her night time feed and her morning feed! I am soooo lucky!

I was meant to be going to a mother and toddler/baby group today, but can’t be bothered now. Just going to have a lazy day I think as my back is killing me, and I can’t be bothered rushing around to get ready. Holly will only sleep through it anyway so not much point really. The class yesterday was much better as at least there was interaction so it kept her amused.

Beenie – brown is totally fine for a baby girl! It’s a unisex colour. I have a red pram and people keep asking me if I knew I was having a girl as it’s a girl’s colour. I thought red was totally unisex!! I think maybe it’s because the red and white stitching inside the hood is so close together that it can look a little bit pink perhaps. I hadn’t noticed though and wouldn’t have cared anyway.

Also, if you just want a cheap room thermometer, let me know and I will send you one. I have a couple of freebies (you probably get one in your Bounty bag or something), but they are as accurate as bought thermometers.

Nice pics Wizadora, SM and Tigs.

Right, shower time whilst mademoiselle is asleep!

I have bought a toilet seat lock - OH won't let me attach it, even though so far the nappy cream, a spoon, and the baby's hands have all made a journey into it :( he loves flapping the lid, and loves putting objects into containers and taking them out again...

She won't let me attach it because the other day she got so frustrated trying to undo the child lock on the washing machine cupboard that she broke the cupboard hinge :( which I still have to work out what to do about, she tore the hinge out of the wood so tis a bit of a mess.

eep... can you get a bit of wood to glue over the top so you have something to glue a new hinge into it? good point though - need to work out how to undo the lock before i put it on ;)

Thanks Claire i was getting so confused with the different types, i still haven't figured out the difference between the one you linked to and this one

    http://www.mothercare.com/Graco-Logico-S-Base-Black/dp/B0013LPJ2Y/sr=1-2/qid=1258711369/ref=sr_1_2/279-5274338-2186707?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=42764041&mcb=core

apart from the obvious price difference

How long do they stay rear facing for? I thought it was only a few months!

I'm always on freecycle and never seen a base, no fair :(

I think the one you linked is a specific one where as because its a travel system it'll be the one I put. I gave my car seat & base away only a couple of months ago.

Reece was only in his rear facing group 0 seat for a short time (about 3 months) as he is a long & fat baby and was all squashed up which made for terrible car journeys! However Charlie (DS1) was in his for about 6 months so it does depend on the baby really. However they are supposed to remain rear facing (either in group 0 or 1) seat until they reach around 9/10kg

Sami when you're about. A while ago you were researching car seats - one from Costco possibly? Did you get one? Or did you find something better?

I should be getting Violets next one now she's 9 months old - and was thinking of one of the 9mth to 11yr ones........but I don't know where to start!

And anyone else is welcome to recommend a 9 mth + car seat they've got/had. :D

Thanks Fitz i will see if i get a freebie then or i'll hold you to that :p:D

Claire thank you :T The whole car seat business is a headache to me, i didn't drive when DS was little so have only ever used the basic boosters for him now! I might put a wanted on for a base and if i have to buy one i'll hope i can re-sell it to recoup some moolah!

Don't think i'll spend any money on one til i know my car has passed its MOT though

Need to go and paint my bedroom ceiling... Think a bacon sarnie is calling for now though, which will make me feel tired so i may need a nap hmmmmm... Ooh life is so hard :rotfl:

fitzio - I have switched to Gripe water and I don't give it at every feed now. I don't know if it's the switch from Infacol or just that Jack's getting older but his wind is nowhere near as bad as it was!

was just about to do some housework but Jack woke up from his nap  He's happy in his cot for now so might just go and clean the bathroom. Need a shower but waiting for some parcels so you can guarantee postie will call when I'm in the shower!

  • Morning all. Beanie - you were asking about thermometers last night. We have this one, it an ear one and does room temp too.

Liam slept from before 8 till 9, but his last feed last night was about 6:30  I would normally given him a small top up bottle before bed, but he was tired and being a horror. And for the 3rd night in a row he screamed as soon as I left his room. I left him to cry for a few mins and he stopped :T That's the first time I have successfully left him to cry it out, I usually end up going back in, but I'm not having him get into the habit of being cuddle to sleep at night.
