    Suppose it was about time for an update.

    I've done the yearly budget re-jig ready for September. No more going to the debts for now because we hit a pretty big stumbling block. Dad now has an £800 overdraft :mad:

    But I have a plan to deal with it and I've now given dad £15 a week to have for himself. We can't really afford it but over and above that is being spent currently so it makes sense to budget a fair amount. I just hope he appreciates it and sticks to it!

    Okay, new game with the savings, matched bet as much as possible through the new season and increase it. Not going to be easy as I've got to rely on reloads and arbs, but definitely do-able so I'm aiming for nearly doubling but anything is a bonus.

    Starting figure is.... £1700 (this is the amount I can currently get at and use)
    Target: £3k

    I have one offer already, so as of Sat, I'm back in the game :)

    Thank gawd for our emergency fund! Just had to buy a new washing machine. Had to pay extra for urgent delivery tomorrow too, but on the plus side it was the cheapest price for it and we've earnt loads of Boots points which will be very useful.

    Right, I need to keep track of what needs to be paid/returned by the end of the year, so diary is where it goes....

    To Be Paid...
    * £3000 - Boiler (September)
    * £1000 - Van repairs (October)
    * £800 - Overdraft (November)
    * £1000 - Mortgage overpayment (December)

    Owed Back...
    * £775 - Car Repairs
    * £300 - Car

    Quite a lot of spending :eek: But it's all budgeted for within the savings, so we should do it with a little bit of breathing space.

    Quick update from me as we're slightly changing strategy again.

    We ended up being about £400 short for the boiler due to my brother having to pay back a bit slower (he's moved out).
    So, I could have cleared that with Octobers savings but that would only leave £100 for the oh-**** fund (the slush of the savings money not accounted for).

    So we're sticking £2k of the boiler, another £300 (new fridge-freezer! everything is dying at once) and a bit more (more slush fund) on a 0% card till July 2010. Still have to work out exact figures, but are we being sensible doing this rather than having nothing to fall back on?

    :confused:
