I got one like that! It wanted me to confirm various timings and stuff.

Then when I got my sheets out my folder, I knocked a glass of water over them and some of the ink smudged so I couldn't read some of it.

I sent an apology explaining what I'd done, and confirming the bits I could read and guessing on the rest. I was dead worried how they would react to me not being able to confirm everything.

I got a jokey email back saying thanks and to be more careful with glasses of water in future. Total contrast from the inital email and clearly written by a nice person.

    This made me laugh!! :rotfl:

Also made me feel a little less nervous about my own query ... fingers crossed it's ok.

I am doing my first supermarket for T N S today, I have done the fast ones before but they are quite different.

I can't really work out just how much I have to do. I realise that there are only 2/3 depts that I have to ask questions, etc, in but I don't know if I have to go to all others and assess them too.

Also, it is not clear whether you always have to check the CS desk / notice board.

Can anyone give me some pointers.

    Would really appreciate it.

The instructions for that job are quite intimidating (about 20 pages I think) however when you complete the report it's real easy so you don't need to worry.

You don't have to go to all depts. Look on your notes at the page which has "Introduction" at the top followed by "Visit Date Time"
About two thirds of the way down you see the depts (usuually 3) that you have to visit and then nearer the bottom you will see dpts where you have to go and ask questions.
I always check the notices anyway, can't remember if they ask about them. And you have to describe in detail every member of staff you have contact with.

The depts where you have to ask a question, if there is no member of staff in the depts then you don't have to answer any questions about that dept ;)

    I need some advice please!
I did an age related alcohol purchase the other day for TNS. I did 6 that day - went out of my way to do them all for them as it was sent in one of their 'begging' emails!!

When I came to submitting them, one of the receipts had been ripped across the numbers at the bottom meaning 2 of them aren't readable ( one of them is quite obvious but can't be sure - but the other is totally missing.). The missing amount of receipt is about 0.5cm deep by a cm or two across the length of the receipt. This was ripped by the cashier when she was taking another receipt off the bottom. They have now told me it will probably have to be reshopped but asked me to send the receipt anway. I know the member of staffs name so surely it's quite obvious who served me?

Anyway, I have heard no more since I scanned them the receipt yesterday. But this morning have a email telling me they have de-allocated the visit due to not filling in the form.
Do you think they will still pay me as they know I went to the right store at the right time and took the name of the staff member - thus proving I was there? Or do you think I should just put it down to experience?:o

Oooh toughie... I've not done a shop for TNS yet, but considering you went and did the shop, it would be fair of them to pay you for it. I would email your AM and explain the situation - that the receipt being ripped was out of your control and you understand if the shop needs to be reshopped, but you would appreciate it if they could still pay you for your time and effort.

I did one for Gfk once where all of the staff were busy in the time I had to do the assignment (was one where I had to sit down with a salesman) so I explained this to them saying I was happy to re-do it but would I still get paid for the time I spent attempting the assignment. They rescheduled it for me for the next day, and paid me half the fee for the attempt I tried, and the full fee for doing it again.

    Definitley chase it up.

Another one saying chase it up TNS are the company I have worked for the longest, and they are usually pretty good. It wasn't your fault that the receipt was ripped, you may need to push it a little bit to get paid.

The only company who have never paid me for attempting a job is Bare. I tried several times to get service in a phone shop recently and it was just too busy. As I was away for the weekend I couldn't reschedule it, so they cancelled it and didn't give me anything - but I did ask! It costs nothing to try :p

Might be worth saying I just picked up an email job on Gfk - I know they don't offer the same jobs to everyone at the same time, so might be worth checking!

No - I tried doing this once but the program won't allow it as it says you're netering it too early

UNLESS your brief says to enter details the same day. Otherwise you have to wait the full time.

I have one at the moment that says to enter the results on the 10th day for an email response and the 3rd day for an email. ??? Besides the fact the to me an "email" and and "email response" amount to the same thing, I can't enter anything yet and its been 4 days. It's really stupid!

I think the email response might be an acknowledgement.

Yes, I've picked a couple over the last few days. It all in the same wave for a company that monitors email and phone customer sevice from large (often government) organisations. Apparently its a large project so I'm anticipating quite a few comig up soon maybe.

I also got an email from one of the GFK guys offering a few email and phone jobs to various London councils/boroughs if anyone lives in London.

You have to either live in one of the boroughs, have a friend or relative living in the borough area who doesn't mind you using their address for details or you have to be willing to use a postcode provided by GFK. If you live in London and would like some details, you can PM me.

So even if you live in the Midlands like me, you can still do the assignment if Gfk provide a postcode for you?
