  • Sorry to post a third time, but I forgot to say that I've just received my first query since I started MS'ing - from GAP.

They asked me to confirm my timings, confirm that I was on my phone the whole time and confirm that the tables were dirty, etc.

I had of course read peoples' posts on here about queries, but I didn't realise how accusatory the queries feel when they come!

My timings were correct; I didn't think that 1 min 40 secs was very long to wait in a queue, order and receive you food - but I guess they do! The fries were lukewarm (not my fault!), the tables were dirty and a server walked past with a cloth in her hand but didn't wipe any dirt - just passed her hand over the edges of the table that was shoulder height while she daydreamed along and scowled at everyone! How is it my fault that they ask us to truthfully report whether the joint is performing up to standard or not? If they want us to just say "yes - everything was beautiful, the food was delicious and the staff were paragons of delight and efficiency" then why hire an MS company?!

Also, I was on my phone - writing the timings down and making notes. I was still paying good attention to everything and doing the shop properly, but they make you feel like you weren't. :( I hope they still pay me, cos I was telling the truth and did the job just as well as any other I've done.

Question on the emails on Gfk. If you get a full response on the same day, do you submit the rest of the questionnaire on the same day or do you still have to wait the 10 days?

No - I tried doing this once but the program won't allow it as it says you're netering it too early

UNLESS your brief says to enter details the same day. Otherwise you have to wait the full time.

I have one at the moment that says to enter the results on the 10th day for an email response and the 3rd day for an email. ??? Besides the fact the to me an "email" and and "email response" amount to the same thing, I can't enter anything yet and its been 4 days. It's really stupid!

The language of those "query" emails makes them feel more like "threat" emails no doubt:mad:

Yeah, I actually found it rather confusing, the coversheet seems to say that upon receipt of full response or 10 days after emailing whichever is first. But on the test it said I had to wait 10 days and I received a pass on the test. So, now I'm not sure what to do.

Hi, i've signed up with GAP but dont really use them much as i find the website very difficult to use. You can search by Suburb but the Suburbs look like they are based on assignment location, but thiis means you have to scroll through very randon places keeping an eye out for places near me........ Am i missing a trick? Can you search by location? i.e within X miles of a post code? Something to make it a little easier to find jobs? Any help appreciated!! Thanks, Matt

Well, the folks at Gap have their own unique ways. No, you cannot search by post code, as it is probably too uninteresting and logical. Instead, stores could be listed by street name, town, locality or even door number at times!

Completely!! When I read it I felt all hot and guilty inside like when I was about 5 years old and took a CD from my uncle's house and got caught!!

WHy don't you try entering the results and see what error message (if any) comes up? Mine said that I was entering it 8 days too early - which was a pretty clear indication of when they wanted me to do the questionnaire.

Uch, 2 RE queries already today. :(

    :rotfl:Ive had 9 in a week
I think they are either stoopid ( I suspect this to be true)
Or blind ( probably not true)

All of my queries have been because they have raised the query before reading the full report

    ie
There is no salad on your receipt you did not order the correct food you will not get paid

    Hmmm
Please read my report the waiter insisted on removing two items (I didn't ask him to) as we waited 2.5 hours to be served a two course meal
Without revealing myself I couldn't find a way to get him to put them back on the receipt and trust me I tried !
I detailed all of this but still got the lovely you wont get paid until you sort it email

Another one said I didnt do the MS at all as the male assistants denied serving any women that day !!!!

Dont take it to heart I think they are trying to justify there existence :rotfl:
"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."

All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.

Yes. My case was the same as yours. I failed the test on the last question not understanding why and it was near the deadline for the e-mail to be sent. So I had to release the job at the last minute. First time ever to release a job.

Did another e-mail job the other day on Saturday. Got the reply e-mail on Monday. Was the same like you wondering whether to submit the report then or wait 10 days. In the end, I submitted the report straight away, it went through the system with no problem. Glad that the job was out of the way and no need to wait 10 days. Hope this helps.
