Yep job hunting. Still don't know what I want to do and I'm 36!!!!! Did have a great job until Feb last year. i was doing the baking and ready meals (proper stuff) in a farm shop but the owner decided to close it.

I am a partner in OHs business (part time) so I do stuff for that. Just want to earn enough to pay towards the debt and keep my horses.

Anyway you can do soemthing like this for a local cafe (I use to bake cakes for my local cafe)

Or put an ad in local paper/or shop for fill freezer type service - I use to go and cook for the 'big hoose' and fill up their freezer - I now do it for a few folks locally who I have cooked for before and do holiday cottages sometimes as well. I did a few flyers to begin with for local holiday cottages.

Or baking and ready for local farmers market? Do they have one near you? When I did the local farmers markets (with herbs and plants) the local baking lady was sold out by about 10am.

I use to do car boots with baking/sweets near xmas when I didnt have a job with OH at first - made enough to tick us over (but not loads)

Sorry ramble central you have probably thought through all of those :)

I am almost 41 and have absolutely no idea what I want to be when I grow up......

I had thought that myself and normally I wouldn't go so girly but don't know what's come over me. Also swore blind I wouldn't buy a wedding magazine. I bought one yesterday, nearly a fiver!!!!! I did have a giggle at some of the 'rustic' ideas and how much they cost and remember seeing similar ideas on this forum for pennies.

Undecided about the shoes now, beaded or plain?

Id go with fays wellies idea
    or
beaded waders now that would be an interesting set of wedding photos ,

,,,,,,,,,,,, failing that I'm sure Piquant has some thigh length boots you could borrow  .....:rotfl:;)

Wellies eh? What, like these?! :D

I should probably confess that they didn't actually wear the wellies for the service, but they had a blessing afterwards down by the river (this is my Brother in Law and his wife) and the wellies were definitely needed then!

Unix - re shoes, I would go for something which will leave you looking slightly shorter than your OH - just gives a slightly more balanced look in the photos and also the very last thing you want on the day is to be feeling in any way self-conscious. Think also of the comfort factor - it's a long day and you don't want to be spending half the time thinking how sore your feet are. John Lewis used to do a good and reasonably priced range of wedding shoes.

I am thinking more dungarees or something practical than a frock - but open to ideas.

  • I am more thinking no frock - but I do have a beautiful one here - bridal one - got it for being a fairy - very pretty.

Thinking dyeing it sage/moss green and going for that very woodlandy puck type fairy thing. Long cascading hair and an ivy wreath on my head.

    Or dungarees :)

So what did you do about the shoes??

I like loads of things, reading, gardening (preferably slash and burn type), cooking sorting out piles of paperwork (very nerdy about things like that, as long as its not my own!)
