  • Hello you lovely people

Just thought I would pop in and see how you are all doing cos I haven't been on here for an age!! I am now almost 23 weeks pregnant, have had a gender scan and we are having a little boy :heartpuls :j We are both so pleased! My due date is 7th August and I have 12 weeks left at stinky work before I start my maternity leave!

Alcohol-wise my attitude is just completely different (hope it lasts! :o) I don't even think about the wine aisle anymore during my frequent shopaholic supermarket trips but I do have the odd glass of wine if I go out and I think my tally is up to 6 (small) glasses since Christmas now - a far cry from my old self I am sure you will all agree :rotfl:

I haven't had time to read through the millions of posts but I hope that you are all keeping well and carrying on with your good work

    Lots and lots of love,

    Shoppy xxxxx

Well, ONE YEAR of no alcohol and I see a different person in the mirror. My eyes no longer look dull and vacant, they actually have a little sparkle and my skin doesn't look like uncooked pastry anymore. I feel that I have won a battle but not yet the war. Hope everyone else is at the point they want to be, I never want to be that person I was, I have been tempted but I just think back to what I had become. The sun is shining at the moment and I feel good and want to continue to have the sun in my life.

    This says it all.

Thanks Guys......I couldnt have done it without you.

(I dont normally like to name names for fear of missing someone out but would like to say special thanks to Bismarck for his words of wisdom, also Jo, BHB and Lurky who have been there since the beginning, and also InSearchOfMe for starting the thread.)

Night night, sleep tight.See you tomorrow.
    All my Love

ETA Thanks for all your good wishes.

Molly - Huge CONGRATULATIONS hun, you are an inspiration to everyone on this thread!!! :T:T:T

Hi all- (hugs) to fedup, hope things look brighter soon, thinking of you.

I think I suffer from full moon fever- everyone in my family says my grandad used to go a bit loopy at this time too, and he was an alcoholic.

Hope everyone is OK today, good luck for tonight and I hope the blues lift for those feeling down- being AF tonight will help, it helps lift depression and gives you a huge mental lift- having a hangover definately doesn't!

    Hi everyone :hello:

FIRSTLY how fantastic that we have: Bhb, Ym and Shoppy back all in one day. :T Now Polaroid where are you? (You know I have a soft spot for you, so if you are lurking then please post a quick message). So lovely to hear from you guys and glad to have you back. Shoppy how lovely that you are having a little boy, have you thought of a name yet? So hugs to you all and take care. xxxxxx

Mp glad you like the Rod Stewart song, I tend to listen to it when I need some comfort. Guess the title: "Country Comforts" is very apt. Btw I like the idea of af pear cider I will look out for some. Take care sweetheart and lots of love. xxxxx

Upsy I too love buttons :D I sent my Ds a button chick, don't know if you have seen them but I bet they are yummy. So well done on chalking up another af day yesterday and I hope today goes well for you too? Lots love and hugs. xxxxx

Wbf hugs and I hope that today is af for you, I too used to drink too much once I started and I kept asking myself: "Why"? It didn't stop me though until I came across this thread. I guess the timing was right and something just clicked? Re: the units if you go on the: drink aware website it is FRIGHTENING  So I am sending you positive thoughts and of course my love and hugs. xxxxx

Miss P you are certainly suffering with all these bugs that you keep getting, you have though been rundown. What is your doctor like? Could he/she perhaps give you a check up or help in anyway? There is also the alternative therapy method as well, I have previously benefitted from aromatherapy and reiki. I do hope that you start to feel better soon, I would CERTAINLY RECOMMEND A HUG FROM PIGLET :D Look after yourself sweetheart and take care. Hugs xxxxx

BsNtc hugs Angel and your snazzy dancing star so makes my day ;) And of course your great sense of humour, I will be asking you to help me with a small prop? We will chat more over lunch ;) Lots love and hugs. xxxxx

Noynoy Hugs and I am sorry that you too are not well, so please take care and I hope you feel better soon. Lots love. xxxxx

40sm well done on how well you are doing so far in our April challenge :T keep up all your good work and re: af drinks I am afraid I am a ginger beer kinda girl, the stronger the better :D So take care, Love n hugs. xxxxx

Jo glad you are sorting out some overdue tasks, re: your long overdue appointments. Have you been to the dentist  I remember that you said sometime ago that you needed to make an appointment. So please take care and enjoy being with your children. Lots love and hugs Angel. xxxxx
Btw  I too have been calling HS, Hp as well, so apologies. Or perhaps she likes being Hp as she hasn't corrected us? ;)

Pk have a lovely time away and enjoy Easter, catch up with you on Monday sweetheart. Hugs xxxxx

Fedup hugs and I am sorry that you are feeling unwell again, re: work I think it is the same sadly at the moment in most work places. In my company there has been alot of cutbacks and now too few people are trying to still get through the same amount of work. But remember that we work to live and not live to work. Though these days it seems that they would like to have your soul as well. Btw when you were last ill I remember that you were not alone then, just trying to think if it was Miss P then too? So take care sweetheart and lots love. xxxxxx

Winebox gosh 5 limes is that instead of Easter eggs this year? ;) Its always lovely to hear from you and please do keep posting. (I worry when you are not about). Lots love Angel and take care. Hugs xxxxx

I now put everyones gifts in baskets and wrap with cello. I find it very relaxing for some reason and when I am playing I dont want to drink. Hey it works for me. So take care sweetheart and look after yourself and your tyres. Hugs xxxxx

Ah, Wednesday nights - irrational crush on Suralan's right-hand man Nick (and I'm AF, so can't blame it on beer goggles!).

Well done everyone who's achieving their AF goals whether cutting down or out.

    xx

I felt that fedup I put a bottle of white wine in the freezer the have a super quick blast of chilliness. I then started to make my tea which surprised me by being very nice. Had loads of glasses of squash instead and then decided I didn't want any wine and it was too late to have a drink.

Glad I didn't drink and now I am on 6AFD. Still feels fedup, when the full moon goes the mood will lift I am sure and hopefully will feel a bit brighter tomorrow!
