Hi Paul,
The £5.99/month offer is available to 80% of the UK according to Plus net and you can find out if this includes you by checking your postcode on the sign up page. Unfortunately we have limited space in the newsletter but it quite clearly says this in the article.. Thanks.I'm quite suprised that Martin's newsletter is promoting Plusnet at £5.99 per month because it's only for 3 months as an introductory offer, then it goes to £11.99 per month thereafter!
Wasn't this researched first?

Before rushing to sign up for Plusnet's Value package one should also consider how they prioritise bandwidth and the 'expected speeds' of their different packages in the afternoon and evening:

So between 8pm & 10pm users can expect to get just 512Kbps download speed?
It's not such a bargain after all...0 -
sorry I dont understand kbps.. what is the equivalent speed in MBs? eg how many kbps make 1MB - that way I can have an idea of how slow is slow?:o0

1Mbps = approx 1,000kbps, or 1,024 to be more exact.0

ok, thanks
Wow.. so I see their speeds are slow in that case in the evening and overnight given those figures.0 -
The info in this link seems to give a bit more info, including what isn't restricted. Just enter Value in one table, and Unlimited in the other to compare.0

As always, these discussions depend on your own circumstances. For me, I have just cancelled my sky subscription and gone to TalkTalk for the 12 month free calls and broadband - exactly the same deal I had with sky as part of my bundle. It seems a no-brainer if you're going off tv like I am. My monthly bill will drop from £42 to £10, which seems a good deal to me. My girlfriend lives in Germany, so I can still call her for free any time of the day. If I use my free mobile minutes during the day, and my landline in the evening, I'll save a lot of money.0
