Wow, congrats SF, you must be so thrilled :) (and vicariously, we all are too).

Sending Reiki to SF's grandad and Mumzy (please go and see someone about your neck, if you can see an osteopath, all the better - I swear by mine, she's a lifesaver; I pick DD up far too much and put my back/neck out a lot and she always fixes me far better than painkillers)

    xx

    Hi everyone!

Just popping in to say that Jan went well with only overspending by £18.84 which I didn't think was too bad. Have managed to eat mainly from supplies we already had and the main spends were on presents and finishing paying off the sofa!

Am very happy to hear about your gentleman friend Slowly Fading, just reading your ealier post made me smile :D Have you thought what you're going to do for Valentines?

Glad your granddad is back at home where hopefully he's more comfortable, fingers crossed they find out what's wrong. Congrats on the teacher training too

Anyone know who has got good offers on cheese at the moment???

Just checked freezer and down to last 5 blocks normal cheese plus one block of stinky blue stilton (Yummy) so will need to replenish cheese stocks quite soon. Can't complain as most of these were bought Jan 2008 when I picked up loads of xmas cheeses for 10p a block :) Oh and also have a ceramic pot of stilton in fridge one of oldies bought me

Apt responses to all, I've read all the posts but you know me by now - I never get around to individual responses. :o I do think about how/where/why/what everyone is doing, though and hope all goes to plan.

Sunshine and blue sky here, washing's hanging out and it's a good day for working outside, so that's where I'll be. Catch up again when I return to the work-a-day computer stuff later - self-sufficientish preparation works are calling for now. :D

Feb 14th - I'm a little bit 'anti-commercialism', so if I was to do anything special, it would probably be homemade, homecooked, homegrown or homebased. Hmm... now I come to think of it, everyday is Valentine's Day here! :rotfl: I'm certainly not expecting to be swept off my feet for an exotic or romantic break nor do I expect to be knelt to, proposed to or lavished with diamonds, but stranger things have happened, so I'll never say never. Perhaps a nice pot plant? :D
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Just caught up again. ISOM - I lurked on this thread last year, posted a few times and then decided to join this year's challenge. I don't use spread sheets (had enough of them at work) but just keep a note of my spending and deduct it from the total in my signature. I pay cash as much as possible and am trying to stay on track.

If you find that it's too much for you to read all the post, don't.....just pop in now and again and skim a few.

If you find that it's too much to update spread sheets don't......just keep a running total of all spending and look over your receipts now and again to see where you can make a differnce.

If you want to come back....DO....we're happy to have your company.

If you don't want to come back....good luck with your finances.

    Afternoon peeps,
Another nsd day for me:D, too blummin cold to go out.
Been browsing the net and i've decided i want a pair of fitflop billows. I've got a pair of the summer fitflops and i love them, but i've not wore them much lately due to weather. Only thing is they cost between £69 and £88:eek:. I can not justify spending that much money in one go even tho i know i will wear them to death. Been looking for a discount code but the best i can find is one for 5% off, plus cashback. Think i'll leave it for now and see if they come down in price a bit more or i find a better discount code.
    Todays plan...
    Do exercise dvd
    Storecuppboards lunch and dinner
Check online banking - make sure all dd have gone out
    Meal plan for tomoro

  • Hi All,
just spent ages catching up and just want to say well done to all that got offered or started new jobs, congratulations those of you who are getting married, and hope everyone feeling ill gets better soon xx any bigs hugs to anyone I missed out - sorry!!
Spent most of the weekend trying to clear some of my allotment, feels like a loosing battle but will keep going when the weather clears. Thanks to whoever suggest the heated airer, my flat is incredibly damp and nothing dries in there, the storage heaters are pointless and my built in wardrobe makes my clothes mouldy (which stains, hence a large pile of ruined shirts:mad: ) and it's costing an absolute fortune to use the dryer/laundrette. Guess I'm gonna have to fork out for it.
Have just been keeping a general budget, which I'm over, but have been totally inspired by the details ones shown by others, so that's the route I'm going this month.
Have been rushing around to agencies and interviews this week, just applied for the prison service (career change but tied in with my degree) and am behind with my coursework, so will try and keep up with you all for the next week.
You guys are tops :T thanks for all the inspiration xx
    Take care xxx
