Didnt it say in the advert that its an 8X DVDRW drive?
If so, then if it arrives with a CDRW/DVD drive Dell are in breach of some kind of advertising legislation, and I'm sure phoning them and pointing this out would make them suddenly show kindness and give you that DVD writer, or face Trading Standards....0 -

Apparently the current offer in the papers specifically shows a combo drive (see posts #95 and 96).0 -
Not bad offer, will look about first though.0

I've had a real run around today with Dell, yesterday (Monday) I received a flyer from Dell advertising the Inspiron at £349 (this came with a 60GB hard drive.) Today (Tuesday) I received another brochure in the post from Dell, the same Inspiron now cost £429 and only having a 40GB hard drive. Yesterday (Monday) this forum hailed a price of £299, for the same machine.
What are DEll up to?0 -
