  • Unless the council can prove that parking their constitutes a danger of course they have. Its peoples attitude like yours which allows this useless government to pass hundreds of laws a year unopposed.
  • The quicker you learn that the parking system in this country is just another cash cow for brown the better. It has absolutely nothing to do with safety or keeping traffic moving.

Not at all, I was just stating facts, show me anything that states that a resident has the " right " to park outside of their home.

It isn't just this government either, it has always been the case.

You just cannot slap yellow lines down as a cash cow.

Why not as long as all legal procedures and documents are in place?

would i be successfull by challenging on the grounds that i am a resident of the road where my car was parked.

No, not with the existence of that restriction.

Plenty of other possibilities though. You really need to show all of the PCN or if not able to do that quickly then at least tell me what Council. I asked earlier.

It will end up in court if you do not pay it and to be honest they cannot pay it. The whole street would then be slapped with tickets, and thats wrong. You should have the right to park outside your house. I assume that they have been parking there for years so obviously its not dangerous. Probaly find its some hitler warden just started.

I like this idea, I own a terraced house with double yellow lines outside, are you saying I can still park there. If I do it stops dustbin trucks and fire engines getting round the corner, but I asume this is ok as well?

No i said about at least 60% of yellow lines i see have ABSOLUTELY no safety consequences or even traffic managing effects they are just nice little cash cows.
  • And the original poster has been parking their for over a year and i guess the other residents have been for years i think we can tell what category these lines fall under.

Ok, if you think the OP should do this, will you cover their costs? Or are you giving advice that is likely to lead to the OP LOSING money rather than saving it?

If you're sure you're right, you'll send the OP a cheque.
  • Well the original poster if he is on a forum should be prepared to encounter different views. He should then be prepared to evaluate the advice and take a weighted appropriate action. As the old famous saying goes its not rocket science.
