I love this thread, everyone is so positive. It could be renamed 'The count your blessings thread'.:T
My OS pleasures today have been.
1. Coffee and home made date and walnut scones at home before going
on shopping trip with married DD.
2. Lunch eaten in Mr. T's carpark all very MSE:money:
3. Seeing the beautiful autumn colour in the trees.
4. Cleaning all my kitchen cupboard doors with vinegar and stardrops
when I came home.
5. Cooking home made potato wedges in the remoska to go with a
vegetable fritatta for tea.

Thanks for reviving this thread Thriftlady (and for starting it in the first place) :T its such a positive thread and very welcome at the moment
My 5 OS pleasures today- my new washing line ready to use tomorrow - got rid of the TD and really looking forward to drying outdoors again (weather permitting of course!!)
- having a full freezer again – been without it for a few months. I’ve been stashing away tomato sauce, veggies, herbs and now doing some meal building blocks (from thriftlady’s thread);
- making my meal list for this week – not had time as been sleeping at my poorly godmother’s but I’m now able to get back into my OS routine because ...
- my poorly godmother is much better now - something I’m most thankful for
- seeing my thick and snuggly house slippers take shape on my knitting needles; I have such cold feet, can’t wait to get them finished
... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Good thread. For me it is
- make bubble and sqeak with leftovers for DS tea
- bathing with DS (toddler) to save bathwater, plus kept him occupied playing with empty shampoo bottles etc
- taking my dinner into work to save money
-drying clothes on airer
- making something wholesome and healthy for my tea (dont know what yet through)0 -
my five for the day
1. leftovers for lunch - saved me three quid
2. Discovering that tacos make mince go a long way and you get brownie points for "exotic" dinner
3. flying with Pigpen means that I'm not stressed out even with visitors coming tomorrow
4. baking anzacs with the kids for the visitors instead of buying treats
5. Cycling through a tunnel of gold and red leaves this morning on my way to workI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
I forgot yesterday!
so here they are....
1. Making a mince pie for tea with a bit of mince and loads of veggies that needed using up from the fridge.
2. Prepping and freezing another 2 bags of windfall apples from the garden.
3. Sending a bag of windfalls to my sister-in-law
4. Hearing my daughter telling me that her hubby's job is safe for the moment
5. Seeing my hubby when he came in from workA family that eats together, stays together

self sufficient - in veg and eggs from the allotment0 -
1 - Resting my wrists on my homemade wristpad (stuffed with oatmeal) while typing
2 - Having saved a lot of money buying reduced stuff to take to my mum when I go to Italy (and used discount voucher too!).
3 - Eating the leftovers of a delicious chickpea and veg soup that my DH made last night (which I missed because I was out)
4 - Looking at the lovely patchwork cushion that I made the other day in textile class (and still disbelieving that I made it! For real!)
5 - My fifth pleasure is going to come in a short while when I shall make a pot of tea to last me most of the afternoon while working, with "biscuits" that are really oatcakes topped with HM blackberry jam.
Love to all
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Caterina's post made me think..... my wrist rest is a free sample piece of memory foam (like you get mattress toppers made from) with a bar towel (Tombola prize at a beer festival) wrapped around it.
OK, OS things that've made me happy:
1. Getting my shower fixed - I honestly thought I'd have to have it replaced, but our tame plumber has come up trumps.
2. Made enough veggie moussaka for two days yesterday, so no cooking tonight, which is good as Mr LW will be late in today.
3. Just made HM bread rolls and chocolate buns for Mr LW's lunchbox, despite the fact that I am quite unwell today.
4. The last of the green tomatoes are ripening on the kitchen windowsill.
5. The pile of mending that had been sat there smirking at me is now all finished. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
