  • Hi

Well I am half way through the month and half way through my budget ( even with DD 11th birthday sleepover for 10 children last weekend) -which is good. I have had some great yellow stickers ( 4 peaches for 50p made into a cake, ww meals 2 at half price with the multisave discount as well,) freezer is well stocked and so are cupboards so all is good - I have rejoined weightwatchers so not only now do I have to get shopping bills down I have to eat healthily as well!!

    Hi,

I got some lemon curd in the cupboard don't normally eat it but it was gales and at 23p a jar could not really refuse.

Any how I have one quick (thick)question in your recipe you state ½- 1 jar lemon curd does mean that half of a whole jar as in one jar or does that mean between half and a whole jar.

    Thanks in advance.

    Yours

    Calley

  • Popped into my local co-op store last evening to buy something and noticed they had reduced stock earlier than usual. Bought a large cooked chicken reduced from £3.99 to £1, whole baked custard tart 20p, a pack of two iced buns 20p, pack of ham slices 20p and an organic wholemeal loaf 20p. Having chicken curry tonight, salad tomorrow and have put legs in freezer. I came home excited and OH laughted so much I realize I am turning into a boring old F. There was a time when I would only get excited when I managed to bag an outfit in M & S sale. What has this site done to me? At least we are not in debt and do have some nice holidays also cut down waste so much my bins are only half full when collected. Have not joined the challenge for a few months but still saving £50 per month on food shopping, this month I think it will be £60 saved.
  • Morning all,
Just on to declare for wk 2 of September, at £39.24/£40, a grand total of 76p under (which I am happy with as I explained last week) giving us £78.46/£160 for the month so far.
Just finalising what we need for tomorrows shop (using mysupermarket to roughly price it), comes to approx £32 but we have the NOTW £5 off £30 to use so should leave £10 approx for weekly milk and other bits in between.
We also have to get FIL birthday presents (but sep budget for that) and am getting a roast chicken to have for tea with all the trimmings for him too (will use carcuss for stock).
Hope everyone is doing ok, keep trying (even if you feel like you are failing every small step is a step that you need to take- be it forward or back!- wow profound lol ).
    Bye for now.
    OS
PS Will pop on tomorrow if anything to report from shop otherwise will just update the spends on the sig instead of a long post.
    xx
