Default PFAFF 1027 sewing machine manual?

Hello

Through the wonder of freecycle, I have recently acquired my first ever sewing machine - a PFAFF 1027 sewing machine. I am a complete novice and have never owned or used a machine before but I am keen to learn.

Trouble is, I don't know where to start - ideally I could do with a manual for my machine.

I have searched the internet high and low but it seems a manual is nowhere to be found. I've also emailed PFAFF themselves to ask for some assistance but they say the manual is obsolete.

I have found a manual on ebay but it is in the US - $21.99 plus $19 approx for P+P - not the money saving start I had in mind!

Anyboday got any ideas how I can learn how to use this machine?

TIA

This looks promising, a free download, though compressed in .rar format, not .zip, so you'll need to download a prog to uncompress it.

But it might be worth a look.

Question servicing the chef.......

Can I please revive this to ask if anyone has a link or manual on how to service an A701?
Mine is working fine but is very noisy & dances about when making bread - I have to stand there with one hand on it to stop it walking off the worksurface lol - not fun when making pasta the other day - boy does that take some kneading -granted 'babysitting' the kenwood was easier than the traditional way tho
I think it just needs a bit of TLC & I'm sure I've seen something similar here but I just cant find it

(bet Squeaky finds it in 2 seconds flat lol)

I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I Know

There is a manual here, but it doesn't really go into servicing beyond cleaning.
http://www.kenwoodservice.co.uk/inst...structions.htm

In my experience jumping about the work surface is caused by the stuff being mixed not being evenly distributed around the bowl. If mine starts dancing when mixing a bread dough I stop it, lift the head and break the mixture up with a spatula. It sometimes takes 2 or 3 goes, though.

Other thoughts
1. Are you overloading it?
2. How are the feet? The ones on the 701 that I got second hand were all flattened and broken. I bought some new ones through eBay and matters improved considerably. If you are using it with broken feet the dancing around may actually be scratching your worktop.

Hi Psykicpup,

You aren't alone: My Kenwood Chef is trying to run away!

If you have a look through The Complete Kenwood Chef Collection there are some references to people servicing their kenwood chefs but the only link to a service manual for the A701 that I could find, is now obsolete I'm afraid.

She did

had a look through there first but didnt find anything useful really but Pink found me a link to others who have to babysit too - so a bit relieved now anyway
Something makes me think it was a thread where people were boasting/comparing their Kenwoods if that rings any bells for anyone. There were other links to show the differences in models too if I remember rightly.......

Addiscomber - I will check the feet - hadnt thought of that - thanks

Default Anyone have a manual for an old Magimix?

Hi

I have a Magimix Compact 3 Automatic 100 Multi Cuve that DH bought me back in 2003 and I never used (was in my 20's then with no kids, now early 30's with 2 in tow and with a serious need of batch cooking to save money...).

Does anyone have the manual for this, or know where I could get one?

Many thanks in advance.

Can't you ask Magimix? I have found companies to be quite helpful in this respect. There is also a website that I have heard mentioned that you can download manals from, but I can't remember the name - sorry! However, this will bump your post, hopefully, so others may have more info.

Default George Foreman GR30 - no manual. Pls can you help?

I was lucky to buy a fully working George Foreman GR30 "Big George" Grill at a boot sale for £2 today!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/George-Forem...=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

It has no manual so I wonder if anyone can help. I found a website with some manuals uploaded and although mine isn't listed I found the standard cooking times and recipes really helpful.

The thing I'm stuck with is that, as well as a timer, my machine has a dial to adjust the temperature. Can anyone advise me as to which foods should be on higher temps and which foods on lower ones?

Thanks very much

Hi annie,

I have that one and have only ever used it on maximum temperature. I expect if you were cooking something like really thick burgers you might need to lower the temperature a bit so that the outside didn't burn before the middle was cooked, but as I said I've never used the temp control function.

This thread might help you to make the most of it:

George Foreman - What do u cook?

Same as a frying pan/grill generally, thicker foods should be cooked for longer on lower temperatures so they cook and don't burn. I generally use mine on about 3-4 temp (mines a slightly different model with numbered settings 1-5 and high is stupidly high!) Thinner foods, veges etc can be cooked faster at higher temperature if needed.

As an example we do loads of toasties in ours, I like mine sizzled so cook it high, DP likes his barely toasted but with melted cheese so I cook his on low for longer. Steaks he likes his medium-rare, really brown outside but red in the middle so I do it high for a short time, I prefer my meat dead so do it lower for longer.

I'd say try it and see, you'll soon find methods which work for you. Well done on the bargain, I might have to have a look round car boots as I want another.

One day I might be more organised...........
Nov so far £88.63

Thank you so much for the advice. I hadn't thought about using common sense....

I think I just panicked when I saw that the temp dial is the main difference between this and the other versions!

Thanks again!

November £120.00 fingers crossed, so far, so good, trying for as many NSD's as possible this month

You can search for Philips manuals online on their website: -

http://www.support.philips.com/suppo...dex_gb_en.html

You will just need the model number from the front, or label on the back, of the PC.

If it helps most TVs now have an "Autotune" programme so searching for this in the menus should mean the TV does the rest of the work for you . Hope that helps.

Hi Jackie,

There is a thread that may help on the In My Home board.

Find Instruction Manuals Here !

As you've had a reply I'll add your post to the Old Style OS Appliance Manual sharing thread as your question may help others too.
