List gathered from t’internet, all have specialists for medical conditions:

    Columbus direct - 0800 083 9503

    MakeSure - 0870 156 6679

    AllClear - 0870 777 9339

    Medi-cover - 0870 735 3600

    Free Spirit - 0845 230 5000

    Hope this helps!
if it's more than 10 stone, and that hairy, it's probably not a dog...it may be a wookie.
  • We have a complementary annual travel policy with my LloydsTsb account. I can upgrade this for ski cover but the cost is more than a complete separate annual policy including worldwide ski cover.
Does anyone know of a company which will provide just the ski cover on a separate policy either on an individual or family basis?

Does anyone know a company who will insure diabetics and those with health problems? I currently have to use the Diabetes Uk insurance service which (last year more than doubled in price). My diabetes is relatively well controlled, but I'm not stupid enough to know that I am more of a risk than someone without the condition - so realise I will pay extra, it's just making that extra as little as I can.
    Loving freebies

Does anyone have a suggestion for a co that can do this insurance before Jan 2nd? Columbus for example exclude non-uk residents and under 17s.

This is for a cruise where the 13 year old (British but French resident) is travelling with her grandmother, so 1 day in New York. Grandmother is already insured under a scheme not available to the teenager.

    Thanks!

OK above problem is solved - Colombus and the like can insure teenagers below 17 but it has to be done by phone, not online.

I am looking forworldwide multi trip annual travel insurance to include scuba diving to a maximum depth of 50metres..I am a diving instructor and qualified to dive to this depth. I am going to Thailand for 3 weeks in March and want to dive. I have a quote of £80 from Scubasure. My usual company have gone into liquidation, I think it was because of the Tsunami

    Hi there,

I am travelling to New York in March and am looking at getting travel insurance for our trip.

Thing is, I have never got insurance before and I don't really understand the ins and outs of it, so was wondering whether I might be able to get any help from anyone out there? I have no idea about excess cover, etc - or anything to do with what is covered actually!!

We are going to New York for 8 days in March and are a couple, both aged 27. However, we will more than likely be travelling elsewhere in the year so was wondering whether it might be worth buying Annual cover? I read Martin's article on insurance and pretty much understood that insurance for USA is so expensive that it's usually not much more to get cover for the whole year. Did I understand correctly?

If anyone can help at all I would be most grateful. Hopefully I don't come across as being a complete philistine, but I just can't get my head around it!

    Hi,
Firstly, check if you can get free annual cover from your bank. I am with Lloyds TSB and they give free cover to customers.

If you can't get it free look at:
    www.insureandgo.com

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

Looking for annual travel insurance for me and my wife. The above seems like a good deal with comprehensive cover. Has anybody used them before? Pros? Cons? etc. They are very cheap compared to other online insurers like insureandgo.com so I just wanted to make sure the policy doesnt have any silly clauses.

Now I've booked my hols, I'm after travel insurance.

I've seen 2 good (i think!) annual, couple, policies (worldwide):

The cheapest is Simple Travel Insurance, £68, linked from Martins article. Has anyone claimed from them or had any problems?

The second is Direct Travel, £72, but they don't have any Hijack or Mugging insurance. Not sure if I am getting carried away and don't need this anyway? I am going to Eygpt, so a little worried about bombing, hijacking etc.

Both cover all the "sports" I am most likely to do (planning on going scuba diving!) but Direct Travel covers a few extras - kayaking, quad biking etc which might come in handy, but might not! Its hard to plan for the next year!!

    Any feedback welcome!
