Visa Electron Card - Ryanair flights

Does anyone know if the Post Office Travel Money Card is accepted by Ryanair to avoid paying their booking charge?

Yeah, but you're probably better off going to entropay.com and getting a virtual electron card.
  • Thanks for you reply. I'll look into your suggestion

you can also get visa electron by opening a halifax basic account. you don't pay anything and don't need minimum balance either.
  • thanks again - really useful information

same for the co-op basic account. Mine arrived 5 days after opening it, with still enough time to put money into the account, & book the cheap flight I was after.

If the information in this thread is true I wouldn't bother opening a Co-op account for use with Ryanair:

I have used my Co Op electron card for 2 Ryanair purchases now and am happy with the cash saved, and the ease of how it was set up. Opened electron account with Halifax, and was loads more hassle, cancelled in the end. Would get in quick before they stop issuing.

Have some people got this PO card for Ryanair?
http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po/jump1?catId=19300207&mediaId=26800661 How do people minimise the charge on it - it seems to be £3 each time you top up so presumably have to keep quite a bit of spare cash on it or would be paying £3 each time a Ryanair flight came along? If Ryanair stopped using it you could just use up in a shop?
Have seen threads on this but need the nitty gritty please! Cant get Halifax one as already have a current account with them so most interested in Post Office one. thanks

If you already have a Halifax current account that's no bar to applying for the Easycash account as well. Indeed, it's an advantage as you can transfer money instantly into the easycash account via internet banking when you want to book a flight.
