Hi
Due to large deficit in my 2006 budget, I have decided to cook pasta for the rest of the year.
84 days = 84 pasta recipes
Now, I would like to ask you for your help and recipes contributions.
My situation has a few of limitations.
· I am not a great cook
· Our oven is broken
· 4-5 ingredients at a time (excluding pasta).
Thank you muchly.

Tagliatelle Carbonara
175g tagliatelle
1 tbsp oil
4 bacon rashers, finely sliced
1 garlic clove, peeled and finely chopped
3 eggs
salt and pepper
1. Cook the pasta over a medium heat in a large saucepan of salted boiling water
2. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the bacon over a high heat for 3-4 minutes until crispy. Add the chopped garlic and mix well
3. Break the eggs into a bowl and beat well. Add seasoning
4. Drain pasta
5. Scrape the bacon, garlic and fat from the frying pan into the saucepan and then return to the heat, add the pasta and stir well
6. Pour in the eggs and stir very quickly into the pasta so the eggs start to set. Remove from heat and serve immediately0 -
Bacon and Tomato Pasta.
Any pasta you like.
For the sauce.
Chop 1 red onion, and 1 clove of garlic, fry in a little oil. Get bacon bits (in tesco they are in the value packets on the bottom row for about 70-80 pence.) fry till nearly cooked.
Add to it 1 jar of passata (mushed up tomatoes and herbs etc.) little bit of salt pepper and tsp of sugar (yes helps with the acidity of the tomatoes).
Pour over pasta of your choice.
Serve with grated cheese over the top.:wall:Crazy Nutters Club Member 003 :wall:0 -

add a stock cube (any flavour you like, my favourite is chicken) to the water when cooking your pasta. Once cooked drain it and add some cream cheese and stir through. Add a little twist of black pepper. Very cheap yet very filling and tasty. The stock cube gives the pasta a bit more flavour.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Chop one onion. Fry lightly. Add one tin of chopped tomatos, a generous squeeze of tomato puree, some herbs (eg Basil or Thyme) and some sweetcorn. Cook for about 20 mins, and then mix in with ready cooked pasta.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

You dont have to eat pasta for the rest of the year to eat cheapily:D Some of the ingredients needed to make different recipes will still be quite expensive. Do you have a freezer? You could bulk cook and freeze things like: chillies, curries, stews, shepards pies, fishpies...all very very cheapily;)

You will end up unable to eat pasta again if you eat 84 meals in a row with this.
My DD was really keen on pasta but now cannot face it as she has sickened herself of it!
Similar recipes to pasta can also be made with rice, quinoua, potatoes etc and will be as cheap and less boring.
How about stuffed home made pancakes for instance."This site is addictive!"
