Well if I get there and buy a million packs of Peas, for a 66p odd profit on each bag, there will be no peas left in any ASDA, so I rekon it is a Grabbit! LOL LOL

    Hi
Yes, this is apparently a standard policy with Asda now - I think it's on the Shop But Don't Drop Thread.

It's not standard policy as yet but maybe in the future.

I hope so as I have been overcharged a few times and sometimes I got a gift card and other times I haven't.

I did write to the store complaining that it had to check my receipt each and every time I shopped with them and that I found it disgusting they had overcharged me more often than not.

I got sent a £20 voucher to spend in store and funnily enough, I have been overcharged as much since. Seems like they took my compliaint seriously enough to do something about it.

I was told by Asda head office last week that it is standard policy to give you the gift card for each item you have been overcharged on! and they also told me that it isn't going to change for the foreseeable

It is DEFINITELY standard policy to give a giftcard, it's just that most of the staff at the CS desk absolutely hate doing so and will tell bare-faced lies to put the unsuspecting shopper off the scent. Scandalous company IMO...

Here you go, unequivocal proof that this a definite policy:

What happens if I am overcharged?
If you have been overcharged or undercharged in any of our stores we will gladly refund the difference (if you have been overcharged) and give you a £2 Gift voucher for each product you have been mischarged for.

  • I was overcharged recently at the Grimsby store. Realised just before I went out of the shop and as my wife knows the policy, she went to CS. They told her that if we'd gone out of the shop, we would have got the Gift Card, but as we hadn't left the store then we didn't get it. Didn't know whether to take this further or not - must admit was stunned at the time. So just got overcharged element back. Didn't really have the time either to be speaking to Managers etc. but does anyone think a letter would do the trick?

Although I love bargains, I don't like the confrontational/cheeky/haggling bits - that's where the OH comes in :rotfl:

Like I say, the CS bods will tell bare-faced lies to put you off! Here's my recent experience (ring any bells?)
