christmas 06 stocking filler hunt

seeing as there are now only 84 days until christmas, i thought it was time someone started the 06 stocking filler thread. as a self confessed christmas addict :santa2: ive taken it upon myself to give you all a shove in the right direction :snow_grin

the aim of this thread is to share ideas for cheap and cheerful stocking fillers, for young and old alike. for many, a stocking is one of the most magical parts of christmas, so if it is not something you usually do, perhaps you could start a a new tradition?

i'll stop waffling now. to get us going, i'll post some links that you may find useful/inspirational.

the shopping days are fast running out, so what are you waiting for?!

Some of those things on the list above would be the main/only prezzie (eg ipod, dig camera), not a stocking filler eeek!

This is a brilliant site with lots of stocking and craft gifts. Best of all a percentage of what you pay (up to 25%) is given back to your elected school/ nursery/ playgroup or donated to a charity of their choice (i.e Childline). Their sales can be amazing.

My Tesco's have some good £1 displays, they did some lovely girls bead sets and 2 children's jigsaws for a £1, there were also candles, mirrors and smellies. Amazon still has the Carol Vorderman Sudoku board game for 99p which I have bought for my mum.

saw an avon catalogue today at work which had some items 70-80% reduced- handcream for 20p etc., mixed 'goodie bags' (jewlery and cosmetics i guess) for £10...

right well, to help inspire those filling a stocking for 'overgrown children' :D these are some of the things that go into my OH's stocking

    *rolled up magazine (eg empire)

*toiletries that he will use throughout the year - shower gel, shaving foam, deodorant etc. razor blades go down very well because they are so expensive to buy

*vesta chow mein box - bit unconventional, but he loves them, and i dont like chinese

*socks - he goes through them like there's no tomorrow

*cheap so-bad-they're-good dvds. he loooves crazy things like that

*bath crayons or other funny bath stuff so we can have a giggle whilst sharing the water :D

*lottery ticket/scratchcard. we never normally buy these, so its a bit of a fun, and who knows, might just strike lucky!

*big bag of peanut m'n'ms he's the only one who likes the peanut ones, so he invariably ends up eating the chocolate ones. might present them as reindeer poop this year
