Warning The memory foam mattress firm

Options
I placed an order for a memory foam topper in June for my pregnant partner.
It was late a night when i placed the order and when she awoke in the morning she say she wasnt prepared to wait for it to arrive and that she was going to purchase one that day.

Fair enough i called the company at 9am and asked for the order to be cancelled. A week later i still hadnt had my refund. They stated to me that on their web site it says that refunds can take upto 28 days

Not happy with this as i had cancelled before any order was processed (less than 10 hours after placing it) i contacted my credit card company (tesco so RBS) who were less than helpful just simply stating that as i had cancelled the order there was nothing they could do.

I have already fired off a complaint to trading standards with several points like-

their web site always advertises that their sale finished on the day you are viewing the web site so hence pressure to make you purchase etc.

The fact they are trying to charge a restocking fee where this appears to be illegal under distance selling rules.

Every item on their web site appears to be under a sale but have they actually any proove that they have ever sold or advertised the stock at full price.

Trading standards are being there usually poor service in apart from i got an achknowlegement i have no other communication from them.

Finally 28 days was up today and i still havent had a refund.
I will phone the company up in a second but i am at a loss of what to do next to get my money back. HELP!!!!!

and phone the credit card company. bottom line is you've paid, and you've got neither the item or the money back. they (RBS) are liable for the debt if you're not paid back by the company.
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?

i phoned the company and after being told they would call me back twice i kept on phoning until i got an answer i liked. they recon they have now just done the refund (thursday) as of friday it wasnt showing, will give them till money before kicking off again.

My credit card wasnt at all interested their response was as i had cancelled they will not get involved as the item could have been none refundable, ie personallised, they wouldnt even look into it then.

Will wait till monday before i try again now.

    umm
    no luck yet.
Phoned on Tuesday i was being nice about it as it pays not to rant at times, first she goes on about takes 28 days for refund, so i said well i have been waiting for 33 days now since first requesting a refund. She then puts me on hold when she came back she said it should post in the next day or too also said its paypal that causes the delay (absolute rubbish). Didnt tell her that they said last thursday that they had also said the refund would be done, so not really looking hopeful.

If this hasnt posted on my account by the morning i will be having a further conversation with them about broken promises of refunds and also one with trading standards and my credit card company again.

May have to write a letter threating court action to get this issue resolved

I think it's time to name and shame the company then. It seems that they are just trying to avoid paying you.
