    Hi fellow July brides :-)

We're wrinklies and finally made the big decision last Thursday. So far have:

    1. Told immediate family and a few people at church and work
    2. Booked Register Office for 2nd July
    3. Booked caterers (for 15 at home)
    4. Booked accommodation for out of town family
    5. Ordered dress (Maggie Sottero Kadence in silver haze)
    6. Started to compile folder of arrangements, bookings, etc.
    7. Set wedding budget of £750 (excl. dress...)
    8. In view of 7 above, agreed and firmly resolved not to have: professional photographer, wedding cars, wedding cake, loads of flowers, engagement ring, best man, bridesmaids, page boys, etc.
    9. Set up wedding budget spreadseet to keep costs under control
    10. Agreed that this will be strictly a present-free zone
    11. Assigned duties and responsibilities to all 13 family members who are coming along (with their fully informed consent!)
    12. Accepted with good grace and much gratitude that I now have three very excited and efficient wedding planners - mother, sister and daughter
    13. Taken umpteen phone calls a day from said mother, sister and daughter when they want to tell me about the latest thing they've thought of - great that everyone's being so really really enthusiastic :-)

Now, really must do some work and a final assignment for OU...

  • Hello fellow July Brides 2b,
I'm getting married 30th July I've not done much so far as I'm waiting to try on and decide on my choice of two dresses which so far i have not been able to try on together in the same shop. I've found a shop that is having a Maggie weekend at the end of Oct and will have both in stock so i'll decide then which i want and then i'll feel ready to get a move on with things.
    But so far I have:
Booked registrar and paid the admin fees.
Paid deposit on Venue, where i'm getting married and having everything there.
That's it although i've decided i'll be buying a Jon Richard necklace & earrings & tiara & bridesmaid dress in the Jan sale at Debenhams
I've decided on light gold waistcoats for groom and pageboy.

That's all. You guys are so organised I can't bring myself. to do much else until I know what dress i'm having

Oh and i've booked my photographer who is a good friend and is doing it for free - Yeah!

1 hour after you! 2pm at local register office - lovely georgian building set in great park near Nottingham.

    I think its 41 weeks away - 287 days...

    Today:
    1. Ordered spanx pants to wear under the dress - I'm only small but the biggest bit is my thighs and need a bit of help getting a good line under slimline dress
    2. Found a place where they will make me a lace bolero to match the dress

    :-)
