Sprinkle it liberally with soft dark brown sugar or muscavado sugar, leave in the fridge for half an hour or so. the sugar melts and makes a brulee type dessert. Or stir in some runny honey or maple syrup. Scatter some almonds on too.0

I mix it with mint sauce and chopped cucumber to make a lovely Raita dip to have with curry or even just with toasted pitta bread.
For something sweeter mix in some runny honey, sultanas and a sprinkle of cinammon on top - tasty and healthy.:D0 -
Brown some turmeric, cumin, garam masala, chilli powder, onion - add cubed beef or lamb, brown that too. once meat is browned add a big couple of tablespoons. Cover and cook on a slow heat for 45 minutes or more adding a little water along the way...Meat Bhuna.
Alternatively stir in Honey - like the greeks do. Yum0 -
my son loves greek yog mixed with oaty type cereal which has fruit / nuts in ,and a drizzle of honey on top
or jelly with fruit set into it,topped with the yog0 -
eat it with a curry...0

Tried this only because i had soft dark brown sugar in!! left it for 1/2 hr and it is absoloutly(SP) scrummy!! OH and kid's loved it!!
Thankyou ( i would have probably ended up throwing it in the bin!!)
I haven't told them i got the idea from you they just think they've got a very clever mummy!!LOL:rotfl:0 -
So glad you liked it. I do this with my hm yogurt which usually turns out very thick like Greek. I do it in little ramekins or glass tumblers and I quite often put grapes or fruit puree or berries in the bottom first. It make a nice, quick, easy healthy pud.0

Oooooh the sugar thing sounds divine!
I like yoghurt mixed with eg sunflower seeds and chopped strawberries/raspberries etc. Or in smoothies. Or with puddings instead of custard. Mmmmmmmmmm ...!0 -
I recently tried a recipe with greek yoghurt which was nice. Problem is the recipe only required a blob and my supermarket only sells big cartons of greek yoghurt. I didn't know what to use it for so it ended up down the sink.
Can anyone recommend some ways of using greek and/or natural yoghurt so I don't have to throw away a whole carton every time I want to use a little bit. Total debt £21,000 :eek:Weight loss to date - 2 st, 2lb:j0 -
All the supermarkets sell 'Total' Greek Yogurt in small tubs, if not their
own-brand version. Use it on fruit and fruit salad, instead of cream on puddings, fruit fools, add to mashed potato etc or other things you'd add milk/cream to. Make your own 'dips'.0
