WELL DONE, BAMBER!!!

congrats to bamber - what a turnaround!!!!
thanks to all for the support last night. it was a horrible, horrible experience. fortunately computer geek FIL has managed to recover my most important files, and, touchwood nothing seems corrupt. im going to become the most obsessive backer-upper going after all this unnecessary trauma! just have to wait and see now whether the hard drive is rescue-able, or whether i'll have to buy a new one.
currently working on a laptop, which isnt doing anything for my typelexic fingers, but its better than nowt, which is the alternative.
sali - thanks for the formatting advice. your avatar looks familiar, is it someone i know?know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Hello everyone, I need help! It's not strictly to do with my dissertation but I think I'm close to a panic attack and I can't calm down!
I'm really really scared about my exams, and I'm finiding it really hard to revise because I keep working myself up too much to concentrate. I've never been like this before but so much rests on these that I don't know what to do! I don't really know how anyone can help but I'm really stressing myself out and need to stop. I've tried taking a walk outside to clear my head, tried just getting on with it but I feel like I'm wasting my time.
My usual revision technique is to write out all of my lecture notes and then read them and re read them until it's in my head (I do my extra reading then too). I'm currently writing my noted but feel like I'm wasting so much time, but I'm too scared to switch to a different technique now in case it doesn't work!
Sorry for the rant, I'm panicking!Total abstinence is so excellent a thing that it cannot be carried to too great an extent. In my passion for it I even carry it so far as to totally abstain from total abstinence itself. Oscar Wilde0 -

sali_mali, I'm exactly the same! It doesn't help that I have all these essays still to do, but I don't want to mess up my final year.! -hug-Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

i'd say take the day off. or at least a couple of hours. go do something totally unrleated and make a clean start at it in a bit. if you're stressing nothing will sink in anyway.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Thanks guys, I've stopped for lunch now so am calming down a bit. *Breath*
I took yesterday off so I don't know where this came from! Thankyou for your help both, I'm going to just mess around on the internet for a bit before trying again, and if I start panicking again, I'll give up for the day I think.
Starting to feel a bit stupid now... that must mean it's going away!Total abstinence is so excellent a thing that it cannot be carried to too great an extent. In my passion for it I even carry it so far as to totally abstain from total abstinence itself. Oscar Wilde0 -
