Fill your car up to the brim. Zero your clock. Drive around as normal until you've used a significant amount of fuel (the more you use, the more accurate). Fill you car up to the brim again. Take a note of how much fuel you put in.
You can either.
Divide the amount of fuel used by the miles to get an economy figure.
Or, you can convert all your litres to gallons, and to get an MPG figure divide the total number of miles by the fuel used (in gallons). IIRC there are 4.55 litres to a gallon.
You can multiply the number of miles (6) by your economy figure by the price of fuel to get how much it costs you.
Or however you may want to play with the MPG figure. If your car does thirty miles per gallon, then six miles is a fifth of that. Petrol is approx £4.20 (work it out properly), so a fifth would be 84p or so.

There should be a button somewhere which switches between miles and your trip counter. Hold it for more than 3 secs to zero the trip counter."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

It worked! You star
So, am now clocking trips to work / college / volunteering to see how much I'm spending.
Does anyone know how much you have to earn to pay NI?
I'm looking at changing my hours at work but need to work out if it'll be worth it, I'm still way below the tax barrier. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

I think it is £84 per week but the HMRC website will have the details - https://www.hmrc.gov.uk0 -
I'm so stuck.
I had to take last weekend off and now they are saying they aren't going to pay me sickpay which reminded me I forgot to chase up about why I couldn't get IB and IS before (they said I haven't paid enough NI but I'm under 25 so that's irrelevant).
I HATE this company
So now I'm three weekends pay short, despite being promised it this month, I can't pay my bills or anything  HELP!No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

Lenses - Will check but have always been confused about the check-ups when you buy onlineMy health insurance re-imburses £130 a year (I think it's £130 - is about that anyway, will check tomorrow).
To buy lenses online you need to have a validated contact lens check at an opticians that says you're suitable for contacts and shows your prescription and the lens specification. Basically takes the responsibility away from the website supplier. The online company check the prescription and validation (or they really should!!) and you have to go for a check at an opticians to get re-validated however often the CLO says you should - probably every six months. The checks will cost £20-£25, so up to £50 per year. I'm sure there are companies that'll supply you with any old prescription, but I wouldn't recommend it
Even at an opticians though £22 is quite expensive - I'm guessing you're on the extended wear? You can get monthly disposables that you put in and take out every day for less than a tenner now
I've just noticed your post about lenses was about a month ago, but I'll leave this anyway now I've typed it :rotfl:DFW Nerd #104 I :heartpuls my Kittenand my hat :heartpuls

Thanks PeachPickle, I hadn't heard that about the check-ups and mine have changed the past two years so might stick to Specsavers for now.
I have dailies, my mum's monthlys are only £13.50! But I can't get on with them.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
That's fair enough, I didn't really like monthly disposables myself. I use the extended wear ones, they're ace. Stick them in and leave them for a month, then change them  Dailies are a bit too much effort for me :rotfl:DFW Nerd #104 I :heartpuls my Kitten
