The sign of things to come? Amazing!

Apparently over 1000 empty holiday homes have now been taken over.

Its amazing the things the main stream media decide NOT to report.

There seems to be growing anger by the day.

And then this to fan the flames of anger even more -

First-time buyer plight brings buy-to-let opportunities

http://news.assetz.co.uk/articles/3573.html

The NAEA is drooling at the prospect of first time buyers becoming an extinct species. A sea of speculators feasting on the demise of the first time buyer and battling each other in a bidding war over the last few crumbs.

Its a pretty sickening state of affairs.

All the properties occupied are owned by a property investment company based in Guernsey. I can understand their motivation for doing so.

Its utterly disgusting the way hard working families have been treated in Cornwall and many other parts of Britain. I like what the local clergy man said in that the housing market has been taken over as one massive gambling cartel.

Its now only a matter of time as hard working people who only wish to have some security for them and their familes are now sick to the back teeth of this rotten government.
  • This is excellent.

Cornwall has been hit hard by the nation's obsession with investment in property.

It's about time something was done. Better than burning holiday homes.... just live in them.

Some of the articles on the blog such as the family made homeless after having their rent doubled is just so very sad. The landlord hasn't visited the property since the 90's and its now stands empty.

    personally thinks it's disgusting.

double-edged sword and all that, but I hope that you get some druggie squatters moving into the house next to you, and see if you're jumping for joy then.

I'm assuming the home owners can legally cut off water/gas/elec to the properties?

and no this isn't because I'm a LL (if you don't know i'm a 1 property TEMP LL), why should the wealthy people who have earned their money be treated like this just because they want a nice place to stay in the country for a few weeks of the year? they've earned it, not acted illegally by buying the property

the council's if they want to do something should stop people from being able to buy if from outside the area, not advocating trespassing, and i'm sure they would be well pleased if the area got all the local druggies squatting in this area, or is that what they're hoping for to lower the prices? lol
