Love this thread.
I have always wanted to go Vegas and have been saving for years. I plan on going May 2018 with my wife.
I have been reading and taking notes from the thread but would like some advice please.
I will be downloading the myVegas app, gives me plenty of time to build up.
Is there anything else I should download now?
I have checked flights with virgin and they are £800 each roughly or they do hotel and flights for around £1200 staying at the Bellagio.
Do you guys normally book flights and hotels separately? I have checked hotels and they seem expensive and work out a lot more if doing them separately. Is there any tips to finding cheaper rooms? When would you look to book?
Is five nights enough for a first time?
Thanks in advance.
Have you read the first page? It think it has advice on package v diy. We always do diy, but the next trip will be our 27th. There is a lot of good advice on page one. Read it and get back with specific questions.

hi
i would also make a list of *things to do* and try work on that aspect.also as pebblesmax has said about the first page, remeber to get your esta( theres a link on the first page) and of course there are the dreaded resort fees, which are an added exspense and are often paid when checking in-out so beware of that ( it is like $35 per night per room)
if you use a search engine to see whats happening in vegas when you are going? there might be like someone famous singing someone in vegas. last year when we were there britney spears was at plannet hollywood i think- but you never know someone you like-your wife may like may be there when you go.
we saw david copperfield when we were here last year which we felt it was great
we also did the linq big wheel(the proper name escapes me at the moment !!!) but it was great for getting pics!!
also the feemont street exsperince was fab( we went to the mob musuem before we went and is a few mins walk from freemont street)
but as i said it depends what you-your wife are instreted in- but i think like alot (maybe most?) first timmers you come back and think god i wanna go back- my brother and I came back and witihn 24hours i was on at my brother to book up again !!:D
hope this helps
kind regards0 -

Last night we ate at Blondies (Groupon). The food was decent (I had blackened salmon and broccoli, hubs had a pizza) and with two cokes the bill, excluding tip, was just under the value of the Groupon - $50 - brilliant value as the Groupon cost I think $10 with a code. I wouldn't eat there again though, far too loud and a bit rough around the edges.
Today we had breakfast at the Spice Market buffet (Travelzoo) and just had dinner at Grand Lux (paid full price - shocker!). Spice Market was good, we usually eat there at least once each trip. Really impressed with Grand Lux, beautiful restaurant, great service, lovely food and excellent value.
I also have that Blondie's groupon, purchased with a 50% off code so maybe the same deal.
I also just bought Gaetano's on Living Social for about $14, and Pure Indian $30 spend for $11.20 on Living Social too. There's a 20% code SUMMER20 in case it's of any use to anyone.
We bought the Fizz one on a deal recently too.
Planet Hollywood, we also usually do, but notice that the deals don't include drinks this time around. Anyone know the cost of a drinks bump, we could perhaps use some of our Total Rewards points for the bump. I also somehow thought I once saw an advert for buying a bottle of their 'champagne' quite cheap. Can anyone confirm if this is still the case and the price?0 -

Didn't spot the price of the drinks bump sorry but the breakfast deal on Travel zoo includes a champagne, mimosa or beer each"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

Moved hotels today, it took 50 minutes from leaving our room at the Palazzo to walking into our new room at Mirage - absolutely brilliant! Really surprised we were able to check in so early here, was expecting to need to leave our cases at the bell desk for a few hours. Lovely woman on the check in desk here, we didn't make any requests about the room and she didn't say anything but she gave us a corner room so we've got views of the mountains (my favourite Vegas view) and of TI and the Wynn"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

For those that read my Trip Report:

Well, That issue I had with MoneyCorp at the beginning of the trip being really useless and not giving me my money..........
End result, they put £50 in my bank as a good will gesture for messing my order up. As much as I would slate that company at the time for being not very good, this gesture has changed my opinion a lot, so its safe to say:
MoneyCorp are still a good currency firm to deal with in the Airports (Pre-ordered).0 -
