    Hopefully there is some fix done or in the pipeline to stop that happening again to other compers.

    We suspected some genuine users may get caught up in the anti spam measures but given the extent of it and that we knew you'd let us know it was still worth putting those measures in place.

    I keep getting locked out too - banned IP message, 3 times now.
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

    Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

    About half an hour ago I got banned.

    While I realised it was probably the anti-spamming stuff going on, I still found it rather upsetting. :(

    I sent off a technical fault message.

    Is this likely to happen again? It gave me quite a shock.

    If antispam measures include banning IP addresses, then MSE is way behind the curve. Any self respecting spammer will be able to change his IP address in a flash.

    So the result will be what we see here in this thread - banning IP addresses will hurt genuine users more than ever they will hurt the spammer.

    I got banned too - at least I got told my IP address had been banned and got quite upset and worried as I could not think what I had done wrong.

    It did not help that an overseas phone caller asking to speak to my recently deceased husband turned up not long after. Having a rotten afternoon so far.
