I opened 3 tsb accounts online last week by using new accounts page. I had to create 3 different user names. I phoned straight after accounts were opened, and was told I should have only been able to open one new account each day. The person I spoke to was able to amalgamate all three accounts to my user id of choice. I got 3 online activation codes on the same day, and had to use all three before I got the right one to set up online banking. I was also told that £1000 per month deposit did not need to be from another bank, and could be transferred between the three accounts. Wish I'd done this before :)
  • I don't suppose you know if when opening 3 accounts they ran 3 credit searches? If they ran one at all?

I've currently got 1 Lloyds, 1 TSB and 1 BoS. When I opened then BoS were the only ones who ran a credit search, but although I'd like to open another 1 or 2, I don't want them running another search.

I guess I could always phone and ask, if they say they run the search I say no thank you. Simple really I suppose...

Did they advise you of this fact beforehand?

Hi, hope this is the right thread.

I need an online easy access account, MSE recommends one from ICICI. Whilst MSE states that it has "unlimited withdrawals", the ICICI web site suggests there are charges.

The account looks like it was devised for people transferring money around India, which I have no interest in. All I need is a UK account with online access that I can transfer money into and out of, whenever required, without a fee.

Can anyone with this account please clarify whether the charges apply to transferring in the UK, or whether these only apply to Indian accounts?

    TIA.

Withdrawals to your linked UK current account are free, unless you ask for a CHAPS transfer which costs £20.

    Awesome, thanks for the clarification.

Site set up for an external company to run the freebies for the new current account. The only thing it tells us about the new account is that we can have more than one of them.

Is that a scam? Firstly it's not hosted on the Lloyds banking website, secondly the link to the Lloyds website (http://www.lloydsbank.com/cl/lifestylebenefits) doesn't exist. Be wary, might be fine (presumably if it is, it's one of those paid for current account deals with benefits...), but I'm suspicious of anything related to banking that doesn't have corresponding info on the banking host site!

In addition searching the actual Lloyds site for "club lloyds" returns nothing...

I would be very surprised if it was a scam. A whois search shows that the new website is registered to Lloyds Bank PLC, 25 Gresham Street, London. Since the info on this forum is that the new account to replace the 3% Vantage for new customers is likely to be launched in a few weeks time, I wouldn't expect any links to be active from the main Lloyds site yet. What would be the motive for a scam anyway?
