They are so hungry poor things, I am going to go through the cupboards this morning to see if anything has gone out of date to feed then with. I found they dont take peanuts and seed from the feeders but it dissapears readily enough when it's mixed in with everything else and scattered.
Hi Mrs LW. The very spoilt birdies here advise that only their Blue Tit cousins will deign to use feeders. They prefer me to slip & slide in my PJ.s as I get so worried that they are hungry and shake seed on the ground! They have me trained!0 -
Woohoo smiley
Where I used to live have snow bad but where I live now has a bit slush. You know what that means don't you?! Brum! Brum! Brum! Ok, in reality I've seven 4 miles round trip to school and called off at tesco but aaaaaaah the freedom! Confidence is growing and pushing myself to reverse on drive in slush. I went to get petrol in but got mightily embarrassed when I got out to find the petrol cap on other side, I drove off! Lol
Found library but doesn't open till 1pm so will do that job tomorrow. Desperate to use their Internet because I applied for another job today but had to do it via email on my phone. What a mess. Ill not get anywhere near near because I let myself down by shoddy phone isms.
Had a Tim of soup for lunch and about to make a finger pud for after tea.
Phones deposit scheme. Today is the deadline apparently. It still wasn't submitted as of 5 mins ago. If not in by 5pm tonight it reverts straight to us without a fight. There's a 'review' within 5 days where they will release te funds to us or accept a reason why his evidence was late. I took it at meaning he has a buffer of an extra 5 days. Not happy as hes has his 14 already but have to call back on Friday where they should be able to tell me what is going on.0 -
Tin of soup and ginger pud, sorry x0

Sounds fine Fuddle...I've just eaten a bowl of my stew...I have decided it was pork that I added. Plenty more remains...to be honest I never know whether to call it a casserole, stew or a hearty soup.
Thinking of having a crumpet later:p
Could be your ex LL has given in/realises he won't get anywhere but doesn't want to admit it...at least hopefully an end is in sight."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Hope your tim of soup was nice Fuddle.
Just made lunch for the children and tried something out - was lovely and pretty frugal. Let's call it Puffy Berry Baked Pancake
I mixed roughly 100g SR flour, 3 eggs, cup of milk. Heated a bit of butter/oil in a cake tin/cast iron frying pan in a hot oven. When the butter melted I added the batter, and dotted some frozen berries on top. Baked for about 15 mins. Lovely and only about 250 calories for a large portion, less than 200 for a quarter. It puffs up like a souffle.0 -
Tryingtobethrifty I hope your kids aren't at school because the A7 just closed here and we've got a full blizzard with zero visibility. BBC just said over a foot of snow has fallen in the Borders.0

I hope I can afford it as I have just locked myself into an 18months contract with Plusnet but they have an offer on for half price for 12 months £4.99 per month but it is coming to an end at the end of January and I am paying double that and they suspect it will go up in price.
Also my present deal gives 60GB allowance(between 8am-Midnight)unlimited use Midnight-8am. The new deal is unlimited 24/7.
So they are charging me £6.66 per month so I am still saving approx £5.44 compared to now and it is only £1.65 more per month than their current offer. So it's not bad I suppose. I'd love to pay upfront but they only accept DD.
But in June if I pay the line rental upfront for a year which they do allow I can save approx £40.
So I guess that's not too bad a deal and if I watch delayed tv via the net and not live until the license fee conditions change I can save the licence fee, so a bit more saved.
So telephone, call package and broadband will be about £5 a week. If I change the call package it could be reduced still further(but that means only making calls overnight and weekends)

Afternoon Toughies, no more snow here as yet, but it's gone horribly cold again so I wouldn't be at all surprised if we got some later.
JULIETETTE I can just picture you slip sliding your way out to an audience of giggling birdies all waiting for thier breakfast, I find the only thing that is taken from feeders here is fat balls, and I've seen sparrows using them this year as well as the usual robins. We have no bluetits this year, we occasionally get a mixed flock of longtails and great tits with the odd bluitit in there too but not on a regular basis, they come and work thier way along a line of mature silver birches that are my neighbours boundary. My little feathered flock are extra hungry this year, I think life is currently very tough if you are a birdie, so they can use all the help they can get.
FUDDLE dear my nephew is TIM and I think his mumsie would be most upset to learn that he's been made into soup!!!!!!! Finger Pie, is this to go with your earlier culinary offering of Finger Preserve? Would love to know the title of that recipe book little one!!!!! possibly To Serve Man? Hope the car is making you all happy.
SMILEY lovely to hear from you, glad the lunatic fringe have found you again in your new job, was just thinking they might be getting lonely, well done!!! How is that BRUNO BOY doing these days, hope he is fighting fit and happy.
Take care all, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
