Cross Stitch Cafe - stitching out of 2012 and into 2013...

decided to post my review of cross stitcher above while OH watches his Stewart Lee dvd (last year's xmas present). I really don't find him funny.
LOUISE
I meant to say that when I was looking at Cross Stitch Crazy earlier, I couldn't see any details of our lovely cafe on the Cross Stitch Club pages. I know they featured us as club of the month but I haven't been paying attention - was that it ?
It continues to rain here and its getting a bit silly now. I hope everyone is staying safe and warm. xxx
I've only just had time to look through Cross Stitch Crazy but I found our Cafe listed under Postal & web clubs - page 80 last column0 -
Thank you Firefly for the advice, I will wait until I've done 10 posts..hopefully then the site will let me put photos up...
That is a beautiful idea, and looks lovely Caroline78. I'm sure it will be a present your parents will treasure.
Brednall, thats a lot of progress...I hope you can get it finished in time as it would make a great present!
I have some pink aida and I haven't got any inspiration what to use it for.Does anyone have any ideas?
Pink aida is lovely for baby girl birth samplers or for girl name plates or for samplers similar to those that sweetcarer has stitched recently (the 4 seasons).
Looking forward to seeing your photos when you are able to post0 -
CROSS STITCH CRAZY - Issue 172 (Jan 13!)
Free Gift 1 - 2 x heart hangings. Very sweet
Free gift 2 - Furry Tales chart - little ice skating mouse in a snow globe
Forever Friends (Kisses for you) - Nice enough design but not one I will ever stitch (too much 'bear' colours)
Celeb stitch - Laurel and Hardy. For once it actually looks like the people who are being stitched :rotfl:
50 New Year ideas - Few handy bits which may come in useful. Not the masks or 'tache though
Page 26 - LOVE he little cross stitch style boxes!! And only £3.99 each. Pity none of my family will ever see them...might just have to order for myself hehe
A stitch in time sampler - Love pictures that are an ode to stash. I may well stitch this next year. Doesn't look like it will take long either.
Craft xtra - Birthday ages. Won'tuse them.
Cute cakes...Aaaaagggh more flippin cupcakes! Alphabet ones this time :rotfl:
Crazy for...Dancing. I may stitch the ballerins and ballroom couple.
Woodland Folk - Party time. They are cute!! I was about to say I will stich them until I realised they have the 'between the holes' backstitch
Card designs - Always handy to have
Dressing table set (pretty posies) - Ohh too floral....not for me!
Noughts & Crosses - Cute idea but I won't stitch them.
Challenge Lucie - Donkey/ bubble car/ geese / Pug / Bunnies / eagle. You never know when you might need one of them I guess.
Not much took my eye this month.
I like the 2 free gifts though if I was stitching the skating mouse I might be tempted to use blue fabric to cut down on stitching the backgroundAlso the hearts are lovely but didn't seem very Christmassy to me (not a bad thing)
I also spotted the cross stitch boxes - lovely
I thought the same as you about Laurel & Hardy
Love the Gail Bussi stitching sampler and this is the only design that has made it to my "to do" list
I thought the cupcakes alphabet would make nice personalised cards or coasters
I also thought the "Home is where the controller is" free chart from The Domestic Scientist could be useful - can think of a few people where it would strike a chord0 -

Morning ladies.
FOS. Loving your finishes/update. I especially like the cushion cover.
Sweetcarer. Those little season samplers are lovely!
Maria. The train is soooo cute!
Ruth. Sorry you have had a bad time with this so called friend. Life is too short to have people like that in it.
Skoobie. Angels are sweet. Are they going on your tree?
*Off topic*
Pixie has settled in really well. She's only been here 3 weeks but you would think she had been here all her life!
She gets on ok with Lily, they seem to give each other a wide berth but can be in the same room without kicking off
She has a 'thing' for hubbys slippers!! If he takes them off in the evening she is straight on them. She rubs her head all over the outside, then the inside then settles down to sleep in/on them!:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hello everybody! :hello:
Not posted for a week or so..maybe longer?!Have lost all track of time, so much has been going on! But I have been lurking.
Ruth_honey That 'friend' isn't worth your worry- move on!
Last week (?) I said I thought I was coming down with a cold, I wasn't, it was a kidney infection  The general feeling rubbish and feverishy with the start of the infection I was confusing with a cold. Ended up going to work on the Tuesday morning, handing in my notice- then having to go home ill in the afternoon then having the next day off! When I was eventually able to get in to a doctor on the Thursday (rubbish appointment system) I made them write a note for me to boss as I felt so bad going home ill after handing in my notice! Anyhooby- after a fairly intensive antibiotic treatment feel much better now.
Having a day off work today- using up the last of my holiday days so I AM GOING TO FINISH MY CHRISTMAS CARD EXCHANGE. I AM I AM I AM. Right now... going to do itOff I go...
Bye for now!0 -

Kids decorated little Christmas trees last night for babies grave they are the same make of kit as the train and I made a start on the last of his decorations as ds want to go and make it all christmassy on Sunday, all I have left to get is his little Xmas tree from wilko and then he is all done
When is everybody putting up their tree, ours is going up Saturday x
I don't suppose you know the wereabouts of your manual for sewing machine do you?? I've misplaced mine and need the tension/ setting list (the one that says if using stitch a then tension should be between x and x)
Hope the weekend goes ok, sounds a lovely thing to do. but so

glad you feel better now, are you off to pastures new or just handing in your notice (you probably have said)loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Hi chicky, sorry I have no idea where my manual went. Think it got thrown away in one of those rusting up sessions where if it stays still I throw it away
I do love doing babies grave as it feels like I'm doing something for him if that makes sense! I might not be able to do the normal mummy things for him but I can make sure he is part of our Christmas. That's sounds silly really
Glad you are feeling better Laura13 in 2013 challenge 9/130 -
In all the drama of yesterday, I totally forgot to post about collecting my stitching from the framers. :j
I took it in last week & he quoted me £35 for framing (not laced), but I got him down to £30, which was all I could afford. What do you all think?

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Chicky - Have you tried googling the make and model, perhaps you can find an online version of the manual.
Ruth - Very nice. Are you keeping it or is it a gift?
Laura - Good luck finishing your card. I can't wait to post mine on Monday.
Is there a specfic day for posting pics of the cards? And do we post a pic of the card we sent or the one we recieved. Sorry for all the questions, this is the first exchange I have ever done:)0
