MSE News: Discounts bonus for Amex cardholders

well I managed to check in to EAT today but it was so frustrating as it wouldn't let me unlock the special deal 'spend £5, get £5 credited back onto card'.
I've synced my AMEX and i got the 'newbie' badge alert thingy. It's not as straight forward as accessing deals on 02 priority moments. bit hassley if you ask me.0 -
Once you know what you're doing it's relatively easy to do.
I've already loaded up the deals for Primark and Tesco, spent the required amount, and £10 and £5 have already been credited back onto my AMEX account:)
Gonna try out the Nando's one next week when we're down in Newcastle for the Springsteen gig:)0 -
Dear thommo, Perhaps with your experience you could answer my earlier question. I am in the understanding that over a statement period, we can use the offer on each of the advertised retailer/chain/brand once. I have took the PizzaExpress offer and received a credit from PizzaExpress this statement period. I would like to use the offer with other advertised retailers/chains/brands, but after check-in in these location, there is an orange 'SPECIALS' box saying 'You unloced a Special!', but in fact I never had done that before. Clicking into it (hoping to 'LOAD TO CARD') then it says 'YOU HAVE NOT UNLOCKED THIS SPECIAL' at the bottom of the screen with the 'LOAD TO CARD' greyed, once click it would ask to check-in, which I did to get to that screen! So why is the message and behaviour of the App is so inconsistent? I am using Andorid 4. Many thanks for your advise.thommo7879 wrote: »Once you know what you're doing it's relatively easy to do.

I think it's not all the branches of the chain have the offer. Better to ask foursquare why that is the case.
I think this must be the case. I was in my local Extra and nothing showed up. Was near a Nando's the following night and found that but didn't do it and Tesco Homeplus showed up as a special too.0 -
Having ballsed this up slightly I can offer the following nuggets of information:
- You don't need to spend over £10, exactly £10 is fine.
- You don't have to claim the offer and make the purchase on the same visit/day.
- Gift card purchases are fine

Does anyone know whether you can use it as many times as you like? I logged in at a Tesco's and got the £5 credit and went to Tesco's again today and it was still there so logged in again.
Thanks0 -

I would have thought you'll only get the credit the first time you do it, but let us know how you get on.0 -

Anyone else had problems with this today? I checked in at Pizza Express and it said I'd unlocked the special, but then when I went to the special it said I had to check in before I could claim the special - which I already was! Retried a few times but same happened.0
