    I am very much aware of the running costs but i still do not agree with plumbers changing £500 or more per day.


    If you are charging £120 a day, your either not paying tax, NI, or your a cowboy.

    I am none of the above thanks. If you knew anything about been self employed you would know NI is very cheap as a sole trader.

    I agree for a day rate (unless your P.......o Plumbers who seem to be able to get away with charging £ 90 per hour :eek:). However, what about my example of the guy who fits in 10 x £ 50 jobs in a day which you misread? Then he's well worth that £ 500 IMHO.

    I still think £500 a day is too much.
    I would not be able to charge that much as I would feel guilty.

    It's not about feeling guilty mate, it's about running a business. British Telecom certainly wern't feeling guilty when they charged me £420 for moving some cable for me that took 2 guys 20 mins.

    Still think it is wrong, at the end of the day I am just a gas engineer and not a doctor or somebody important.
