Mushy pea curry
3 cans of mushy peas
1 can of baked beans
Onions and mushrooms (as many as you like)
1 tablespoon of sweetener
Curry powder to taste
Fry light
Fry the onions and mushrooms in Frylight then add all the rest of the ingredients. Leave to simmer for 20-30 mins. If you find the mixture too thick, add water to your prefered consistency.
Use with meat, fish or vegetables and serve with rice. Also makes a nice filling for jacket potatoes if you have some left.

Glad I'm not the only one up at this time of the morning. Had an awful night - just ate for the sake of it, must have put away @ 35 extra syns. But need to put it behind me (well, that's where a lot of my weight is lingering now:rotfl:) and get to the shops for loads of lovely fruit and quiche ingredients - and extra time on the wii !
Hope you all have a good weekend - I love reading people's daily meals, even though I don't post mine (think they're probably a bit boring so not really worth telling you all about) but I get loads of inspiration from here.

Good morningI've had a good night but a short one, slept like a log from 11pm but was wide awake at 3.30 am
The worst thing is that I had breakfast an hour ago so will be ready for lunch by 9am :rotfl:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hmm I'm confused about whether I'm losing weight or not! After putting on a pound at WI on Tuesday lunchtime, by this Friday I could get into the trousers that I couldn't get into a week ago (so before I put the pound on IYSWIM!) . So maybe my gain was just post * week and was just fluid retention.
Consultant31 (or others), how long would you expect to hold fluid etc post * week, I finished 3 or 4 days before WI and thought I'd be clear but I wonder if that isn't the case. I haven't weighed myself for years so I don't have much of a clue!
I'm going to drag myself out of bed in a minute and walk the dog in an effort to jump start my metabolism for the morning!Piglet

Morning, that sounds lovely going for a walk around the lake, do you live right next to one?. It sounds lovely where you are.
Im in the country but the roads are not the best for walking on, so my walks consist of going to the shops, or going in the car to get somewhere to go for a walk.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Im having a EE day today. Ive did green all week and feel better for it, I can see Ive lost a little more weight, trying not stepping on those scales until Monday though.
not sure whats for brekkie and lunch but OH is making the chicken tikka masala and rice for tea. Im looking forward to it. We had it last Sat and it was like a real Indian takeaway only 1/2 a syn.
There will also be no wine tonight as OH is going for a job interview tomorrow (yep a Sunday) for a teaching job in Doha Quatar! He's planning to go over alone for a while until hes sure he likes it etc then we might join him. Our DD starts school in August so we dont want disrupt her too much just now plus I dont want to give up my house. So many decisions.
We were supposed to be getting married this year, and it looks like I might not be able to go over there unless we are married so we might end up with a quicky wedding at some point this summer. This all depends if he gets the job mind you , but its looking positive.
Does any one elses other half work away? And how to you feel about it?:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Morning everyone,
We're already half-way though the day here so all looking good. The DC have been to two parties this weekend but have stayed away from the cake
Nic2075, we're not far from Qatar. Heard lots of mixed reviews about the place but some seem to like it there. I know quite a few people who've moved on from this posting (UAE) to Doha. School places are like gold dust there though, so make sure that that is included in his package (i.e. guaranteed entry plus school fees, which are very ).
WI on Monday so am carefully planning the next few days. Well done on for all the losers :T:T:T:TCC1 £5999 Total Debt March 2021 £5999

Feeling very productive so will get back to it and probably crash @ 4pm:)I was going to take over the world but got distracted by something sparkly.......0

Thanks for this - I will give it a go as I love mushy peas and I also love curry! My scouse is my version of the traditional Liverpool dish - I have to say my version because people get very precious about what is "proper" traditional scouse so here's my version:
extra lean stewing beef (or lamb)
leeks, onions, carrots, celery, swede (and potatoes but you add them later)
beef (or lamb) stock cubes
thyme
salt and pepper.
Basically you just stew the meat with the chopped veg, stock cubes (I use three for 1kg of meat) and thyme for about 2 hours and then you check the seasoning and add chopped potatoes and cook for another hour or so. You do it on the top of the stove so that the liquid boils down and you are left with a stew which is not too watery and into which the potatoes have "fallen" and thickened it. I have it with red cabbage (the pickled kind). I never usually do this but because I want to be as good as poss this week I stewed the meat and veg (not potatoes) last night and have left it in the fridge overnight and will skim any fat off before adding the spuds and cooking later. I reckon that it is free on EE - am I right?
It is a lovely day here today too! Haven't had anything to eat yet because I was up too late for breakfast and too early for lunch!Jane
