Sorry to keep posting on here with questions but I have just had a very large brunch which AFAIK was 4 syns but if it was then it was wonderful! I had grilled gammon steak, scrambled egg, 2 very low fat sausages (4 syns), tinned plum tomatoes, baked beans and a hm potato cake which I made with Sainsburys instant mash and a bit of dried onion made up with water and then Fried in fry light until it was brown and crusty on both sides. I had two eggs and half a large can of beans and I am in a right panic now because I think I have overeaten (food issues and all that:o) How will I lose weight if I am eating this much?

That all sound good. The more you eat of the right foods the faster your metabolism gets into a routine, the more you lose. Eventually you will start to want less and less but if its free then eat eat eat and enjoy. Its very hard to get your head around it when your fit to burst, but it does work.
Remember though if your doing EE then try and have 1/3 of the plate super free foods.

    Hi guys

how you all doing? I have had 2 really 100% weeks but was disappointed with 2 off :jon the one week and 1/2 :cool:off on the next one but am still going. Have been jogging 3 times this week so am really proud of myself for that. Had lush lightly dusted haddock from m&s tonight with baby new pots and salad was gorgeous and well worth 5 syns - very summery x

    Morning all

My 1st weigh in this morning and the scales say 3.5lbs gone :jand its my * week (typical)- So Im happy with that especially as I have eaten really well and hubby lost 1.5lbs -although that is in 5 days as he was poorly when I started.
He is thrilled as there hasn't had to be much change to his diet -I try and use as few Syns as possible as part of meals -so he gets to have them as treats .. so he hasn't had to give up his beer completely ;) -although he has drunk red wine instead this week :T

Hubby has just gone golfing so Im going to settle on the sofa and draw up a meal plan for this week - I have loads of meat in the freezer..in fact I have a small chest freezer and one above the fridge and I can't wedge another thing in -so Im going to look at getting more variety in this week.

Wendyphant -I eat loads of fruit n veg too -my "5 a day" is always in double figures ...I eat enough fruit to keep a gorilla going :rotfl:

Right I will get off- hope everyone has a great day...

Hi have you had a look online? I m sure theres one on the website, I think ive used the recipe for a bacon burger from the student section.
Ill have a look in a bit and post a recipe. I usually just combine extra lean mince, grated onion, herbs egg yolk and I syn a couple of bread sticks and make them into breadcrumbs but thats not essential.
They key to a good burger in my opinion is lots of seasoning, its hard when you cant taste the raw mince but i always put in what I think , then some more.

The burgers I made yesterday were very easy. I used a pack of extra lean mince (max 5% fat). Empty into a bowl and mush it all together. I added raw chopped onion and a tiny bit of garlic. Press into think burger shapes and bung in the oven until cooked.

I didn't use an egg, I found that the mince bound itself together quite well with a little persuasion.

Well I've weighed in after the first proper week and am really pleased with a 5lb loss. I've been doing EE all week, and have really just had to trust that it was working especially with all the green and red food on the same plate :). Have eaten loads, had lots of fruit, but tried to stick to one banana a day, made the most of muller lights and activia fat free. I've also aimed for syn free meals which has allowed me to have a glass of wine in the evening and a biscuit in the afternoon at work.

I've been trying out the recipies from the March/April and May/June magazines. They went down pretty well with all the family despite me having to improvise a bit due to not having all the ingredients. I though it might be useful to share how I got on.

From May/June we have had the Chicken Bhuna - verdict very good although I had no spring greens and substituted spinach - probably a bit too much; Easy tuna pasta bake - vv good, lasted for lunch a couple of days too! Luxury fish pie - really good - ran out of eggs so missed those out, and I found there was too much sauce and not enough potatoes, possibly I cooked in too big a dish.

From March/April we have had the beef lasagne, the jury's still out on the SW version of white sauce, but other than that v good, and the scandinavian meatballs which looked fine, but when I put them in the sause they disintingrated, I'm not sure if that was because I didn't add the egg white or didn't have time to chill them before cooking. I haven't used quorn very much so I don't know if thats a typical quorn problem.

Tonight we have mexican pork and tomorrow a chilli. I'm now off to plan the rest of the weeks meals.
