Morning frugallers!
What a great double use of the SC Redglass :T I'm sure that opens up a whole wealth of ideas for peeps. Sadly I don't have a SC or a yoghurt maker but Iwill learn how to make yoghurt this year!
Good luck with the expert Whitewing, and with quitting the cigs Mumzy. I'm sure it's the bank hol affecting the Quidco payment.
It's a beautiful day here but sadly I can't enjoy it yet as feeling pretty pants and being out in it makes me feel worse  I've wiped the whole day clean which is frustrating as I was meant to be at school, my 2nd gym induction and a leg wax but needs must. I'm hoping if I lie here long enough I'll be able to get out in the garden later on, fingers crossed; it would be such a shame to miss such a gorgeous day, especially as the weather's meant to turn tomorrow. OOH, just checked and it's now saying beautiful days here on Thursday, Sat and Sun, upto 25C :j
Have a great day all, whatever you're up to x

Hi,
Bails if it makes you feel better I can confess that I went for a nap yesterday around 3pm and put the alarm to go off half an hour later. I woke up quarter past six - I should have picked DD up by six  . So it was a bit of a rush. I don't know if to give myself couple of days off and hope that I will be more productive after that or just try to get through all the things I need to do.
I took my car to the garage to be assessed this morning and it seems that it will cost me at least £100 but if they need to get a new kat then it will cost a lot more. I am now driving with most of the exhaust pipe removed and you can imagine the noice. I sound like a boy racer. This now means that I will not take my car to the interim service, it can wait for the full service when I take it for its MOT in the end of November.
Lovely sunny day here - I hope you all can enjoy the sun!

Morning everyone! Hoepfully it'll be a NSD for me today - although the other girls have decided we're having a BBQ outside on the grass tonight, so I'll have to get some meat from somewhere
they're going into town later, so perhaps they'll get enough for me! lol and I'll pay them tomorrow - so that counts, right?
I even earnt £5 yesterday! I did some acompanying yesterday, and she insisted that she gave me a fiver for it! So it'll go to my London fund - I'm going a week on friday and can't WAIT!! :jBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Morning all! I'm desperate to get into the garden today as it's another scorcher, but I have so much to be done - work and in the kitchen as it's DS birthday and he'll be home at 4.
The giant jaffa cake - WHAT A FIASCO!
I took the flan out freezer last night and had the orange jelly setting overnight - a second jelly, as the first one I had made up to a pint and had added the fresh lime juice, forgetting it had to be lifted once set! Well, even the 3/4 pint mix was a near disaster! Has anyone tried to lift a set jelly out of a plate to turn it over and place it gently on top of a flan??? I ended up sitting the flan on top of the jelly and turning the whole lot upside down! Of course, the jelly was stuck to the plate, so wouldn't budge. I then righted it, sat the plate on an inch of very hot water to melt it from the plate and repeated above exercise. The jelly did come off the plate, but BEFORE I had fully turned the flan and top plate, so it landed with a squelch half on and half off the sponge! Yes! You got it! The giggles arrived! If anyone has tried to lift a jelly onto a sponge then you'll know what I mean when I say wrestling a jellyfish! I did, EVENTUALLY, get the thing to sit in place and it DID look OK, like the inside of a giant jaffa cake. That was until the chocolate arrived. I took great time and effort melting this slowly in a bowl sat on top rack of the steamer. The chocolate melted beautifully, it was like silk... UNTIL I tried to spread HOT CHOCOLATE over COLD JELLY!  :rotfl:I never read that far - how does one spread hot chocolate on a cold jelly? It melted through the jelly and resulted in everything running off the side of the sponge! The more I tried to spread it out evenly, the more the hot chocolate melted the jelly and the cold jelly fast set the chocolate. I'm thinking my jelly wasn't thick enough and my chocolate wasn't setting quick enough. I now have a partially / patchy lumpy chocolate covered jelly mass atop a flan base and will need to let the whole thing set again before [STRIKE]applying[/STRIKE] attempting a second layer of chocolate, which means I'll use the whole bar!
It would have been so much easier to stick the whole thing in the freezer for a bit to get it really cold, but who bought 8 loaves of reduced bread yesterday???!!!
OK, I'm off to melt another lot of chocolate. NOBODY is getting to see this mess unless I can disguise it a bit more. :rotfl:

i am going the grant and loan way for uni and not going to work
Ring your local student support office at your local council i know you mentioned tax credits but don't know if that means your lone parent but if so you get way more money
Theres a web site to that can estimate your grant/loan entitlement
http://www.studentfinancedirect.co.uk/portal/page?_pageid=53,1262820&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL
but speak to the council people too as there are lots of local funding programs too
